Faye Greenwood is detailing her shocking health journey.
Just six months after a heart attack at 24 required a heart transplant last October, the travel influencer is sharing her story and reflecting on the difficult experience.
Faye told the BBC in an interview on January 5th that she was shocked by the severity of the situation. She explained that she’d always thought it was something that happened to other people, not her, but it did.
Despite a previous diagnosis of dilated cardiomyopathy, doctors haven’t determined the cause of the heart attack the U.K. resident experienced in July. She remembers feeling chest pain and vomiting before it happened.
I don’t remember much, but I was in terrible pain, unlike anything I’d experienced before,” Faye said. “It felt like everything was ending, like the world was collapsing around me.
She said about the attack and the heart transplant that followed, “It’s something you just don’t expect to happen to you.”
Even though it was a dangerous situation, Faye has openly shared how much more she values life now.
In a TikTok posted on November 23rd, she expressed her gratitude and disbelief, saying she felt incredibly fortunate to have received a new heart and that it was functioning well.
The influencer added, “So lucky and grateful that I’m still here.”

Despite facing health challenges, Faye received support from her fiancé, Ailbhe Lower, who proposed last month. They had previously shared their plans for a future together.
Faye and Ailbhe, known online as Mr. Bruv, revealed their engagement on TikTok on December 28th. Faye explained they’d jokingly gotten engaged several times before, starting with a promise she made to marry Ailbhe while recovering from a heart attack in a Paris hospital just three days after it happened.
She added, “It was a promise that once I’m better, we’re gonna get married.”
After proposing for the second time while Faye was in the hospital, Ailbhe formally announced their engagement by proposing on bended knee on the fifth anniversary of when they first started dating.
“It was exactly what I wanted,” Faye shared, beaming. “I adore my ring, and I’ve been loving all our dates. I feel incredibly happy and so fortunate!”

She didn’t reveal her diagnosis until 2025, when she shared on Instagram that she had been privately struggling with it for over ten years.

He described a lingering tingling sensation in his knees and toes, saying it was “crazy.” Speaking on his Trading Secrets podcast in March 2025, he explained that just a few weeks prior, he was able to squat 295 pounds. Amy Schumer is grateful for the internet, despite its often negative side, because it helped her discover a health issue. After noticing she looked “puffier” during interviews, she was surprised when doctors began commenting on social media, suggesting she might have Cushing syndrome. They pointed out changes in her face and suspected high cortisol levels or steroid injections. This prompted Amy to realize she had received steroid injections following a breast reduction and C-section. Ultimately, the online attention led to a diagnosis of Cushing syndrome, something she wouldn’t have known about otherwise. Thankfully, Amy recently shared in a newsletter that her form of Cushing syndrome is expected to resolve on its own, and she’s happy to be healthy.

In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a frightening health scare while having breakfast with her husband, Justin Bieber. She suddenly started having stroke-like symptoms, struggling to speak and noticing her face drooping. Although her symptoms briefly subsided, she went to the hospital for testing. Doctors discovered she’d had a small blood clot travel to her brain, which they identified as a TIA, or transient ischemic attack. Further investigation at UCLA revealed Hailey had a hole in her heart, called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). This hole allowed the blood clot to reach her brain, causing the TIA. Hailey has since undergone a successful procedure to close the hole in her heart and is now recovering well.

Oh my gosh, it was such a scary time! The same year Hailey was dealing with her health stuff, Justin went through something awful too. In June 2022, he revealed he’d been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome. I was absolutely devastated! He explained it in a video, and it was heartbreaking to see. Basically, a virus attacked the nerves in his ear and face, and it caused paralysis on one side. He couldn’t blink, smile, or even move his nostril on that side! He even said it was getting harder and harder for him to eat. It was so frightening! Thankfully, Hailey shared that he was doing really well and feeling much better. She said it was a scary and random thing to happen, but he’s going to be totally okay, and I was just so relieved to hear that he was on the mend. I was seriously so worried about him!

Emilia Clarke, known for her role in Game of Thrones, revealed a harrowing health battle in a 2019 essay for The New Yorker. While filming the series, she experienced a sudden and severe headache while at the gym, which quickly escalated. She described collapsing and being violently ill, realizing something was seriously wrong with her brain.
A hospital scan revealed she had suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), a life-threatening stroke caused by a ruptured aneurysm. She underwent immediate surgery to repair the aneurysm, but the pain was excruciating. During her recovery, she experienced aphasia, leaving her unable to speak coherently.
Though the aphasia eventually passed and she was discharged after a month, a follow-up scan in 2013 revealed the aneurysm had grown and required a second surgery. This surgery was unsuccessful, leading to a massive bleed and putting her life at risk. Doctors had to perform a more invasive procedure, accessing her brain directly through her skull.
Fortunately, Emilia Clarke is now fully recovered and says she is “at a hundred per cent.”
