
Heading into WWE Survivor Series, fans were wondering which teams would win the WarGames matches and who would become the new champions – with two title matches scheduled. There was also speculation about potential returns of injured superstars, and that’s exactly what happened. A returning wrestler surprised everyone by stepping back into the ring, and ultimately cost a champion their title.
Following the Women’s WarGames match, John Cena wrestled what was announced as his next-to-last match in WWE, defending his Intercontinental Championship against Dominik Mysterio. During the match, Mysterio received assistance from his Judgement Day teammates, but the biggest shock came when Liv Morgan returned from injury and aided Mysterio in defeating Cena, allowing Mysterio to win the Intercontinental Championship.

The match began with Mysterio, accompanied by Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez. During the fight, Mysterio pretended to be hurt, letting Rodriguez and Perez attack Cena with their signature moves. Even after that, and a chaotic interruption from Finn Balor and JD McDonagh following an accidental knockout of the referee, Cena kept fighting. Ultimately, it was the surprising reappearance of Morgan that led to him losing the Championship.
Morgan rushed into the ring to face Mysterio, and although she seemed cheerful, her reaction to Dominik felt strange. She suddenly slapped him, knocking him down, which stunned both the crowd and Cena. Morgan then jumped into Cena’s arms, appearing happy, but her expression quickly changed as the camera focused on her. She unexpectedly kicked Cena in the groin and ran to grab the championship title. Mysterio then hit Cena with his signature 619 move, and Morgan struck Cena with the Title. Morgan then signaled for the referee to start counting while Mysterio performed the Frog Splash for the pin, ultimately winning the match.
The whole thing was a trick to deceive Cena, and in the end, Mysterio won the Championship again. Now, everyone is wondering how Morgan will react to the rest of the Judgement Day team. While Morgan was gone, Rodriguez became friends with Perez, and the others have welcomed her too—even Mysterio has shown some acceptance. It’s unclear how Morgan will handle the situation, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens.
Rhea Ripley hasn’t wrestled since injuring her shoulder in June. This meant she missed the Evolution event, but her team, Judgement Day, still kept their titles with help from a substitute. While there was talk of her possibly returning at the Royal Rumble, she’s surprisingly back in action now, and fans are excited to see what she does next.
