It’s possible that a few voice actors involved in the DC game being developed by NetherRealm Studios may have accidentally revealed the upcoming release of “Injustice 3,” as they were recently the first to unveil some characters in the game. This isn’t an unusual occurrence, as it seems like several games are being leaked these days. For instance, a voice actor spilled the beans about the remake of “Persona 4” before its official reveal earlier this year. Essentially, it’s not uncommon for voice actors to inadvertently disclose the existence of video game projects before marketing gets the opportunity to do so. Furthermore, there have been whispers, leaks, and speculation suggesting the development of “Injustice 3” for quite some time now.
According to popular YouTuber Dynasty, another YouTuber named Brendan Borrow claims they recently had a meeting with George Newbern, who voices Superman in Injustice 2. They even shared a picture as proof. Furthermore, Borrow disclosed that while discussing his work in MultiVersus and other projects, Newbern mentioned he is currently working on Injustice 3. While this information might not seem too significant on its own, it’s interesting to note that user “DannySoul0” alleges that Phil LaMarr, the voice actor for Green Lantern in Injustice 2, shared a similar claim with him. There are also photos provided to support this claim as well.
When Will Injustice 3 Release?
Given the previous release pattern, fans of Injustice have been wondering when the next installment, Injustice 3, might come out. Historically, NetherRealm Studios has alternated between a new Mortal Kombat game and a new Injustice game every two years. For instance, they released Injustice 2 in 2017, followed by Mortal Kombat 11 in 2019. Given this pattern, fans expected the next game to be Injustice 3 in 2021. However, NetherRealm Studios surprised everyone and instead released Mortal Kombat 1 in 2023. This means that we might have to wait a bit longer for Injustice 3.
It’s plausible that Injustice 3 could be right around the corner if NetherRealm Studios manages to maintain their past release pace. However, since we’re nearly at the end of this year and there’s been no news about Injustice 3, it seems unlikely that it will happen in the near future. A possible compromise could be a 2026 release, but given that Mortal Kombat 1 might not be out until 2027, NetherRealm Studios’ next project may not surface until then as well.
Far Along in Development
It’s important to point out that voice actors usually join a game project when it’s well into development, which implies that voice work doesn’t typically happen during the early stages of development. This leads us to infer that Injustice 3 might be either in the middle or even at the latter stages of its development. Given that NetherRealm Studios head Ed Boon hinted to us that their current project has been brewing since the early 2020s, it wouldn’t be surprising if Injustice 3 is nearing its completion.
After making all these points, remember to treat it as speculation, just as before. If you’d like, share your thoughts below. Excited about the possible comeback of Injustice? Ready for more action?
