Elliot Page wasn’t planning to jump into a relationship.

Actor Elliot Page told the Los Angeles Times in 2023 that connecting with people feels simpler and more genuine now. He explained that he used to feel disconnected and worried about how others perceived him. Previously, he often found himself dwelling on past relationships, but now he’s enjoying being single. As he put it, ‘Whoa, I’m alone, and it feels really good.’ He and Emma Portner were married from 2018 to 2021.

He was really enjoying dating and having a great time, but he was still open to finding someone special. That’s when Julia Shiplett entered the picture.

He and the actress publicly confirmed their relationship on Instagram last June, marking their first Pride Month post together with a rainbow and heart emojis.

Oh my god, can you believe it? Two whole months after they first got together, they finally had a public date! They went to see Julio Torres’ show in New York – can you imagine how amazing that was?! And then, then they walked their first red carpet together at the Gucci show in Milan! It was the Spring/Summer 2026 show, and I literally screamed when I saw the pictures. It was everything!

They announced their relationship publicly with no prior hints, and they’ve continued to share updates through photos rather than announcements.

Despite busy schedules – Page is filming the upcoming movie The Odyssey with Matt Damon and Tom Holland, directed by Christopher Nolan, and Shiplett has been performing her one-person show, Ambiguous – they still managed to make time for each other.

Page shared a New Year’s Eve post featuring a series of photos, including pictures of him and Shiplett enjoying time at the beach and in a park. He captioned the post with a New Year’s greeting and mentioned they were at a cottage.

Neither Shiplett nor her ex have spoken publicly about their relationship. However, in a recent stand-up routine shared on Instagram, Shiplett joked about the challenges of dating as a female comedian. She pointed out that while straight male comedians often highlight their profession as an attractive quality, that’s not usually the case for women or gay comedians.

She joked that if someone was interested in a sexual encounter with her, she wouldn’t reveal it happened at night. She compared being a comedian to a long-term sexually transmitted infection – something she wouldn’t disclose until absolutely necessary.

Happily, Page was not deterred once he found out the truth.

I’ve been a huge fan of Elliot Page for years, and it was so powerful to see him come out and share his story so openly. Since then, though, he’s understandably become more private about the details of his life, which I completely respect. After sharing so much in his memoir, Pageboy, it makes sense he’d want to keep some things just for himself.

He’s offered some insightful and relatable thoughts on love and relationships. In a 2022 interview with Esquire, he explained that being dishonest or hiding your true self would prevent you from finding “true love,” if it’s even possible.

After transitioning, he shared that the best part of his experience was simply feeling grounded and present. He could finally be himself in social situations, without the overwhelming urge to escape his own body or the constant anxiety and nervousness he used to feel.

He told the LA Times he’d be open to getting married again, but doesn’t plan on having children, or at least not having his own biological children anytime soon.

He also mentioned that he might adopt an older person in the future, someone who needs a loving home and companionship.

In 2024, performer Shiplett, age 38, explained that she measures her success by internal progress, not by traditional milestones. She jokingly pointed out on the Into the Mud podcast that she doesn’t own a home, isn’t married, and doesn’t have children – things she doesn’t use to define her journey as an artist.

She jokingly said she was completely exhausted, admitting, “I’m just too tired to even think about getting a dog right now.” She’d recently looked after a dog and realized it was more than she could handle at the moment. (Page is actually a proud dog owner himself, having rescued a dog named Mo.)

Shiplett noted that it’s easy to fall into the trap of comparing your own life – what you’ve achieved and haven’t – to others in their thirties, or even to those ten years younger who seem further ahead, leading to feelings of inadequacy.

She definitely wants to own a home someday—she’d love a small house—but she’s not convinced all the typical life goals are right for her.

Shiplett explained that she often questions whether her unhappiness comes from genuinely wanting things she lacks, or if she’s simply been led to believe she wants them.

And isn’t it always the people who aren’t looking who end up finding each other?

Honestly, it’s SO comforting to know I’m not the only one who believes in fate! It’s amazing to think about all those famous couples – they weren’t even looking for love, they just lived their lives, and then bam, it happened! It makes me feel like maybe, just maybe, it could happen to me too, you know? It’s like, they were just living and loving, and it found them.

Ryan Gosling has a history of dating co-stars, including Sandra Bullock and Rachel McAdams. He met his current partner, Eva Mendes, while filming The Place Beyond the Pines. They’ve been together since 2013 and have successfully kept their relationship out of the public eye.

I’ve been following Camila and Shawn for years, and it’s been so lovely to watch their family grow! They now have two beautiful daughters, Esmeralda and Amada. Camila has even shared how falling in love with Shawn completely changed the way she felt about becoming a mom – it’s just so heartwarming to see!

The New York & Company designer shared on Sydney’s Nova 96.9 radio station in October 2020 that she worked incredibly hard for two decades. Despite their characters not ending up together on screen, Kit Harington and Rose Leslie got married in June 2018 and now have two children, though they haven’t revealed their names.

Macaulay Culkin, known for Home Alone, and Brenda Song, a former Disney Channel star, met while filming the 2019 movie Changeland. Their relationship came as a surprise to the film’s director, Seth Green, who told Esquire he hadn’t predicted they would become a couple.

Song told Entertainment Tonight that she and the other person quickly connected because they both grew up as child actors. She explained, “It’s like you just share a look and understand each other.”

Engaged since 2022, the couple have two children: Dakota Song Culkin and Carson Song Culkin.

Sarah Shahi and Adam Demos fell in love while filming the Netflix series Sex/Life. They played former lovers Billie and Brad, which likely contributed to the show’s passionate scenes. I’ve been a fan of Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn for decades, and it’s wonderful to see their family! They’ve been together for over 40 years and raised a beautiful blended family. They share a son, Wyatt Russell, and they each have children from previous relationships – Oliver and Kate Hudson for Goldie, and Boston Russell for Kurt. It’s just lovely to see them all!
