Goldie Hawn spending time with her grandchildren is incredibly heartwarming.

Another reason for her delight is that, when she plays the role of a grandmother, she’s no longer expected to take on the responsibilities as a parent. This allows her to enjoy the special bond with her grandchildren without the usual stresses associated with being a parent.

As a doting grandmother, I adore every moment of it, but let’s make one thing clear – I’m not in charge! I’m more like a joy bringer, dispensing happiness whenever possible. And if they ever need someone to listen, well, I’m here for that too.

At the same time, she noted, going from mom to grandma, “I don’t think I’ve changed at all.”

Based on the lively demeanor of the 79-year-old at the Happy Gilmore 2 premiere with his family – wife Erinn Bartlett, sons Wilder (17) and Bodhi (14), and daughter Rio (12) – it appears that he is indeed enjoying life.

Goldie, who has children Kate, Oliver (with ex-spouse Bill Hudson), and Wyatt (with partner Kurt Russell), is already making plans for the possibility of welcoming another performer into the family.

At the premiere of Happy Gilmore 2, I shared with Access Hollywood my firm belief that neither I nor time itself can deny the undeniable stage presence of my granddaughter, Rio. Just as it was with Kate, I found myself compelled and without any real option to nurture and support her talents. In this case, I believe we are not given a choice.

But, she added, “All I want her to be is happy. I don’t care about anything else.”

The author of “10 Mindful Minutes” was never known for being a stern taskmaster or disciplinarian within their family.

Kate, who is a mother to 21-year-old Ryder (with ex-husband Chris Robinson), 13-year-old Bingham (with Matt Bellamy), and 6-year-old Rani Rose (with fiancé Danny Fujikawa), stated in an interview with TopMob News back in 2016 that she tends to be more stringent with her children than Goldie was, while Kurt is known for being quite firm.

It seems that even with his transition from being a father to a grandfather, the 74-year-old has essentially remained the same person.

In a 2024 interview on Late Night With Seth Meyers, Kurt mentioned that his sons, Buddy (age 4) and Boone (17 months), make it easier for him because they can handle the challenging life lessons that he sometimes wants to avoid. His wife is Meredith Hagner.

All things considered, Kurt and Goldie, affectionately known as Gogi and Gogo by Wyatt’s children, are truly cherishing their golden years.

In 2022, Goldie expressed to the Australian Women’s Weekly that there is nothing more satisfying than seeing her children and grandchildren. She feels an immense pride for each of them. Being a grandmother is a wonderful experience, she said, filled with indescribable joy. Family, she emphasized, holds great significance.

In a heartfelt tribute on Mother’s Day 2024, my daughter, Kate Hudson, shared a delightful photo showing me snuggled up with six of my adoring grandchildren. It was a moment filled with love and warmth that I will cherish forever.

At Goldie’s Love In For Kids each year, instead of shouting “cheese,” consider remaining silent. Young ballerina prodigy Rio, not quite three yet, elegantly responded to the moment with a graceful curtsey.
