What happens at The White Lotus resort doesn’t always stay at The White Lotus resort.
For example, Walton Goggins, who played Rick in the third season of the HBO show, and Aimee Lou Wood, who played his girlfriend Chelsea, have stayed friends since they finished filming in Thailand in August 2024.
With both actors nominated for Golden Globes in 2026 for their work in a dark comedy, it’s a good time to reflect on their friendship and everything they’ve been through together.
Walton and Aimee, who became acquainted while working on Mike White’s acclaimed TV series, fueled rumors of a disagreement in May when they appeared to unfollow each other on Instagram. However, just weeks before this, the actor from Justified had publicly complimented his collaboration with the actress from Sex Education.
On April 6th, the day the third season concluded, Jacob Elordi publicly thanked his co-star, Aimee Lou Wood, calling her a wonderful partner and describing their experience together as unforgettable.
I was so thrilled to see how much Aimee loved working with her costar! She shared the sweetest message on Instagram on April 7th – just ‘R + C forever,’ and it totally captured their amazing connection on screen. It really showed how close they became while filming!
Rumors about a strained relationship intensified when Walton suddenly stopped an interview after repeatedly being asked about it.
In a May interview with The Times, the 53-year-old stated they wouldn’t discuss the topic, adding that there was nothing to talk about.
Although Aimee and Walton initially seemed to want to avoid public attention, they eventually clarified their relationship, stating they had become “closer than ever” after filming The White Lotus.

In a recent interview with Variety, Kurt Russell clarified that he and Goldie Hawn have a loving and supportive relationship. “There’s absolutely no bad blood between us,” he said. “I adore her, I’m completely in love with her, and she means the world to me.” He went on to praise Hawn’s talent, predicting she’ll achieve even more in the coming years, while he plans to enjoy retirement, perhaps in Greece. He emphasized their deep connection, stating, “We love each other very much and care for one another deeply.”
The actor, known for The Righteous Gemstones and married to Nadia Conners since 2011, explained that unfollowing someone on Instagram is simply part of how he prepares for roles.
Walton said he needed to distance himself from others. He described it as a personal way to cope with a difficult situation, emphasizing how important both Rick and Chelsea are to him, and that taking space was necessary for his own well-being.
Whatever the reason, Aimee emphasized that social media activity is not meant to be harped over.
The actor, then 31, dismissed the focus on Instagram, telling Variety it didn’t matter. “We care about the story, the characters of Rick and Chelsea, and wanting people to simply enjoy it,” he said.
Walton agreed, calling the whole situation “so ridiculous,” and explained he was simply saying goodbye to the character he played, so he and Aimee could remain friends forever.
The Golden Globes awards show starts tonight, January 11th, at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. As you anticipate whether Walton and Aimee will win, check out the full list of nominees—and find out which stars didn’t make the cut this year.

Even though the second season of HBO’s The Last of Us started strong, it surprisingly wasn’t nominated for any Golden Globes this year.

Tengen Uzui would definitely approve of this exciting news! Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Infinity Castle has been nominated for Best Animated Motion Picture, a first for any series originally published in Shonen Jump.

Despite receiving seven Golden Globe nominations, including one for Michael B. Jordan, the film Sinners failed to recognize Wunmi Mosaku’s performance with a nomination.

The Netflix hit earned not just one, or two but three nominations for the animated film.

The show The Pitt deserved more Emmy nominations. While Noah Wyle was rightly nominated for his acting, Katherine LaNasa’s excellent performance as Nurse Dana Evans was surprisingly overlooked.

The intense drama in Prime Video’s The Girlfriend captivated even the Golden Globes voters. The series was nominated for Best Limited or Anthology Series, and its star, Robin Wright—a previous Globe winner in 2016—also earned a nomination for Best Female Actor.

The movie received five nominations in total, recognizing performers like Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, but it wasn’t nominated for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.

Jacob Elordi received two Golden Globe nominations this year. He’s up for Best Supporting Actor for his work in the film Frankenstein, and also for his role in the series The Narrow Road to the Deep North.

As a huge fan of Wicked, I was so disappointed to see its director overlooked for the Best Director award again! It’s frustrating when the movie gets recognized with five nominations, but the person who brought it all to life doesn’t get the same appreciation. It really feels like a snub.

The action thriller was the big winner, receiving nine nominations, including a nod for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.

Besides Wunmi, Hailee Steinfeld’s performance as Mary in Ryan Coogler’s film Sinners also didn’t receive any awards recognition.

Even though Regina Hall was only in One Battle After Another briefly, her performance was crucial to the film’s success as an action-comedy.
