Ubisoft has been working on a remake of the first Splinter Cell game for nearly four years, but it’s uncertain if it will ever be released. In the meantime, a Splinter Cell anime series is being considered as an alternative.
Okay, so I’m really excited about this! It looks like Ubisoft isn’t giving up on Sam Fisher, even if a new game isn’t happening right now. They’ve teamed up with Sun Creature and Fost to make an animated series called *Splinter Cell: Deathwatch*, and it’s hitting Netflix on October 14th! I just watched the official trailer, and it looks awesome – you should check it out!
Here’s the story setup:
Deathwatch, based on the Splinter Cell series, brings Sam Fisher out of retirement when a rookie agent needs his assistance after a dangerous mission.
Derek Kolstad, best known as the creator of the *John Wick* movies, led the writing and production of this project. Guillaume Dousse and Félicien Colmet-Daâge directed it.
