Inspired by Anne Rice’s stories, it centers on Guy Anatole, a psychic who joins the Talamasca organization to combat a vampire-related danger. Critics gave the show mixed reviews, with a 64% rating on Rotten Tomatoes as of this writing.
Even though reviews for Talamasca: The Secret Order have been mixed, it’s quickly become popular on Netflix. According to Flixpatrol, as of December 2, 2025, the Interview with the Vampire spin-off is currently ranked 5th globally. While it hasn’t reached the top spot in any country yet, it’s been as high as Number 2 in places like Denmark and the UK.
I’m really fascinated by Talamasca: The Secret Order because it feels so fresh, even though it exists within the same world as Mayfair Witches and Interview with the Vampire. While those classic vampire and witch elements are still present, the story of Guy and the Talamasca organization itself is completely new – it wasn’t part of Anne Rice’s original books! It’s exciting to see a completely original story unfold within a universe I already love.
Reviews for Talamasca: The Secret Order are mixed. Some people loved the vampire villain, Jasper, played by William Fitchner, and appreciated how the series expands the existing Immortal Universe. However, others found the story slow-paced or wondered if it was a necessary addition to the franchise. This division isn’t limited to critics; fans are also split on whether or not they enjoyed the series.
Talamasca: The Secret Order has a 64% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
