The bond between Mark Grayson and his father, Omni-Man, in Invincible is complicated – a mix of love and conflict. Now that Mark is dealing with threats from the underworld, he’s also facing a new challenge: the Viltrum Empire, brought about by Omni-Man’s return to Earth. An exclusive clip on egmr.ru shows the long-awaited reunion, where Nolan explains what Mark will need to do to face the Viltrumites and Thrag throughout the rest of the fourth season.
The Viltrumite Empire, especially figures like Conquest and Mark’s own father, has consistently caused major problems for our hero and the planet. Recently, the Coalition of Planets discovered a surprising fact: there are very few Viltrumites left – fewer than one hundred! This seems like the ideal moment to defeat Thragg and his remaining forces. However, even with a significant numbers advantage, Mark and his allies still face a difficult battle in the ongoing Viltrumite War. You can watch a sneak peek of the next episode of Invincible below.
What Awaits Invincible?

If you haven’t read the Invincible comics, be warned: the show’s biggest villain is a serious challenge. Fans of the original story have been waiting to see Thragg appear, and actor Lee Pace has now been cast in the role. Robert Kirkman, the creator of the series, recently told egmr.ru what viewers can expect from Pace’s portrayal of this powerful enemy.
Lee Pace has a naturally powerful and calming presence, and we really encouraged him to emphasize that in his performance. He commands attention without being forceful – he doesn’t need to yell or strain to convey power. We often discussed how similar this was to the way Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts carried himself; he’s incredibly powerful, but in a very subtle and mesmerizing way.
Thragg isn’t the only new villain this season. We’ve also seen Dinosaurus and Universa, but they aren’t nearly as powerful as the Viltrumite emperor. If the comic books are anything to go by, fans can expect some huge, action-packed battles during the Viltrumite War. The good news is, even though season four will dramatically change things, the creators are already planning several more seasons, so we won’t have to say goodbye to Invincible and his team anytime soon.
