Season four of Invincible will cover the epic Viltrumite War story arc, and finally introduce the formidable villain General Regent Thragg, with actor Lee Pace providing his voice.
The latest season of Prime Video’s show will focus on Mark (Steven Yeun) battling with feelings of guilt as he tries to defend his home. This takes place as the world continues to rebuild after the events of the previous season.
And now, a new danger has emerged – a villain named Thragg – and he could completely reshape the world. No big deal, right, Mark?
Robert Kirkman, the creator of the show, has hinted at some surprises coming in season 4. While the season will largely follow the storyline of the comic book, he mentioned at a New York Comic Con panel that there will be a few new elements mixed in, alongside the major plot points fans are eagerly anticipating.
In a recent interview with TopMob, Kirkman hinted that season 4 of Invincible will take place in a drastically changed world with new and altered characters, reflecting the major impact of the Invincible War.
I was really interested to hear him talk about how they approached adapting the comic books for the show. He explained their philosophy as basically, ‘If something works well in the original material, why change it?’ It’s a smart approach, and it makes me feel confident they’re respecting what fans already love.
When adapting the source material, our goal is to stay true to the original comics while also updating and improving it. We aim to enhance interesting parts, and streamline anything that feels unnecessary.
If key events and moments from the comics that fans are really looking forward to happen in the show, you’ll definitely see them.
Invincible season 4 will begin streaming on Prime Video on 18 March.
