Invincible Season 4 Reveals The Voice of Show’s Big Bad With Release Window

Season four of *Invincible* is set to introduce several major new characters as Mark Grayson returns in animated form. Among them is Dinosaurus, a brilliant reptilian villain who will challenge the world’s heroes. Actor Matthew Rhys will voice the character. But Dinosaurus isn’t the only new threat – Thragg, the leader of the Viltrumites, will also appear next season, and his voice actor has been announced.

At New York Comic-Con, Amazon Prime announced that Lee Pace will play Thragg, the powerful emperor from the Invincible universe. Pace is well-known to fans of superheroes and fantasy, having played the villain Ronan in Marvel’s *Guardians of the Galaxy* and *Captain Marvel*, and the elf king Thranduil in *The Hobbit* films. Good news for fans: season four of *Invincible*, featuring Pace as Thragg, is set to premiere in March 2026.

Thragg Is Coming

Amazon has announced that Lee Pace (known for *Foundation* and *Bodies Bodies Bodies*) will voice Thragg in Season Four of *Invincible*. Thragg is a major villain from the comic book series and the leader of the Viltrum Empire. He was raised to rule with force and is dedicated to rebuilding the empire, no matter the cost. Fans at a recent event were excited to hear this news!

Robert Kirkman, the creator of Invincible, previously told Variety that actor Jason Pace would deliver a standout performance as a major villain in the show. Kirkman playfully suggested Pace’s involvement was likely, stating, “He’s been cast and he’s amazing.”

In a recent interview, Kirkman revealed the animated series will explore a storyline not found in the original comic books. This new arc will heavily feature the character Damian Darkblood and the underworld. Kirkman explained that while Damian Darkblood wasn’t sent to hell in the comics, he was a fan favorite, particularly due to Clancy Brown’s excellent performance. The creative team always wanted to bring the character back, and they’ve now found a way to do so by adapting a story idea he hadn’t previously used. He notes that most superhero stories include a journey to hell to battle the devil, something he never explored in the comic. The ending of a recent episode is hinting at this new direction for the show.
