Gillian Jacobs has a great idea for a new MCU TV show.
Susie Jacobs provides the voice for Samantha Eve Wilkins, also known as Atom Eve, in the Prime Video animated series Invincible. The fourth season of the show, adapted from the comic book by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, will be released later this month.
In addition to her other work, Betsy Jacobs is well-known for her roles as Britta Perry on Community and Tiffany Jerimovich on The Bear. She’s also appeared in several films, including The Box (2009), The Incredible Burt Wonderstone (2013), Hot Tub Time Machine 2 (2015), Don’t Think Twice (2016), and Come Play (2020). Plus, she was in all three movies of the Fear Street trilogy released in 2021 and provided a voice performance in the 2022 animated film Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again.
What is Gillian Jacobs’s MCU TV show pitch?
I recently read an interview with Jacobs where she talked about a Marvel TV show idea she’s really passionate about. She shared her pitch with MovieWeb and is hoping it’ll eventually get the green light – I’m definitely keeping my fingers crossed, it sounds fantastic!
“I have an idea,” she said. “Have you heard of the comic book Dakota North? It was published by Marvel for a short time, and I think it would be perfect for a TV series.”
I recently chatted with Jacobs about a potential project, and she was delightfully enthusiastic! When I asked if she’d prefer to be in the show or help create it, she basically said she’s game for anything they’ll let her do. She’d just stumbled upon the source comic, and immediately fell for it – she raved about the visuals and how much fun the main character, Dakota North, is. Honestly, her excitement was infectious – she clearly thinks it’s awesome!
Dakota North, a freelance private investigator created by Martha Thomases and Tony Salmons, first appeared in Marvel Comics in 1986. Her investigations often lead her to work alongside heroes like Spider-Man, Luke Cage, and Daredevil.
Marvel Studios hasn’t officially announced any plans for a ‘Dakota North’ project yet. The fourth season of ‘Invincible’ will premiere on March 18, 2026.
