Season four of Invincible is coming to Amazon Prime Video next year, continuing Mark Grayson’s story after the intense fights in season three. Most of the original voice cast, including Steven Yeun, J.K. Simmons, Sandra Oh, and Gillian Jacobs, will be back. However, the voice actor who played a particularly tragic villain introduced in season three will not be returning for future installments.
Aaron Paul, known for his voice work as Powerplex in the animated series Invincible, recently shared some surprising news while discussing the video game Dispatch. In an interview with “Kinda Funny Gamescast,” the Breaking Bad actor explained that he won’t be returning for future seasons of Invincible, but emphasized it wasn’t due to any issues with the show’s creators. Paul said they asked him to reprise his role, and while he’s a big fan of the series, the emotional toll of playing Powerplex was simply too intense. He expressed great respect for the show and its team, but admitted the character was a lot to handle.
Aaron Paul Has Left The Building

Paul explained he left the show “Powerplex” because the character’s emotional struggles were deeply affecting him. He immerses himself fully in his roles, and this one became too difficult and uncomfortable for him to continue with. He expressed his appreciation for the show and its team, but ultimately realized he couldn’t continue putting himself through that experience.
Currently, Amazon hasn’t announced who will play Powerplex after Aaron Paul left the show. The character, a well-known villain from the original comics, is scheduled to reappear later in the series, but his return might be unexpected. However, Powerplex isn’t the only villain viewers will see – even bigger threats are still to come.
Fans learned earlier this year that Lee Pace will play Thragg, the main villain, in the fourth season of the show. Thragg is the powerful and ruthless king of the Viltrumites and is set to cause major problems. The series has already been renewed for a fifth season, and creator Robert Kirkman estimates the entire story will likely span eight to nine seasons. Viewers can expect large-scale conflicts featuring Mark Grayson and other exciting characters before the series concludes.
