Skybound Games and Quarter Up have revealed that Anissa and Lucan will be playable fighters in their upcoming three-versus-three tag fighting game, Invincible VS.
Robert Kirkman, co-creator of Invincible, announced the Viltrumites will be central to the upcoming Invincible VS game. In a press release, he explained that with Season 4 of the show, the Battle Beast comic, and plans for the game, 2026 will be a significant year for the Viltrumite storyline. He stated that, given their prominence in the Invincible universe, it wouldn’t make sense to exclude them from the game.
Here are their character descriptions:
Anissa
Anissa is a fiercely dedicated and incredibly powerful warrior from the Viltrum Empire. She firmly believes Viltrumite rule would benefit other civilizations and relentlessly pursues conquest, showing little tolerance for opposition. Even among the Viltrumites, she’s exceptionally strong and fast, and will do whatever it takes to prepare planets for takeover. In Invincible VS, Anissa is a top-tier “Striker” fighter, known for her blinding speed, powerful strikes, and aggressive, close-range combat style.
Lucan
Lucan believes Viltrumites are the best and acts accordingly – he’s fiercely loyal, doesn’t hesitate to use force, and comes across as arrogant. He believes his actions are justified by Viltrumite rules and looks down on anyone not fully Viltrumite, especially hybrids like Invincible, and considers other species weak. Lucan isn’t much of a talker, preferring to rely on his incredible strength and fighting skills. In Invincible VS, he’s a powerful “Grappler” who uses his ability to fly to gain an advantage, overwhelming opponents with throws, grabs, and attacks from below.
The game Invincible VS will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC (through Steam and the Microsoft Store) on April 30th.
