Ireland Baldwin Reacts to Kim Basinger’s Alec Baldwin Shoutout

Ireland Baldwin is recognizing what her mama (and papa) gave her.

Following a birthday message from her mom, Kim Basinger, to Alec Baldwin – which included a clip from their 1991 film, The Marrying Man – the model jokingly credited them with her good looks.

Ireland, age 30, jokingly commented on Kim’s Instagram post from April 3rd, saying, ‘Those are my parents!’ and adding that’s the reason for her good looks.

The video shows Kim and Alec, who starred as Vicki Anderson and Charley Pearl in the movie, re-enacting one of their many breakups from the film. To celebrate the rom-com’s 35th anniversary, Kim recently shared how much the project meant to her.

She wrote, “Perhaps Vicky and Charlie found their happily ever after.” Then, reflecting on her own life, she added, “But sometimes life has other ideas… This Sunday marks the 35th anniversary of ‘The Marrying Man,’ a project I’ll always cherish.”

“It’s amazing how time flies,” she continued. “And speaking of special days, today is Alec Baldwin’s birthday. I want to wish him a very happy birthday – hoping he has lots of health, laughter, and many more wonderful years surrounded by his loved ones.”

Alec, who had met Kim while working on a film before his divorce was finalized in 2002, was deeply moved by the heartfelt message from the Batman actress.

The 68-year-old wrote in the comments, “This is so kind and a lovely surprise! Thank you, Vicky Vale, for remembering my birthday.”

Alec Baldwin, who shares seven children – Carmen (12), Rafael (10), Leo (9), Romeo (7), Eduardo and Maria (both 5), and Ilaria (2) – with his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, is now on good terms with Kim Basinger. However, the actress previously revealed how challenging their breakup was for everyone involved.

She explained to Net-A-Porter’s The Edit in 2016 that divorce is always difficult for children, and her own was particularly challenging due to its public and acrimonious nature.

The 72-year-old woman said the experience inspired her to talk about Ireland in a surprising and unique manner.

Kim explained she simply wanted her daughter to have a carefree childhood. She was happy to let her express herself, even if that meant drawing on the walls, and prioritized filling her life with love, joy, friends, and animals.

Even though their divorce was challenging, including a long disagreement about their daughter Ireland, Kim recently shared that she and Alec have a positive relationship now.

In a February 2025 interview with Variety, she shared that she and Alec have a strong and positive relationship, and she holds him and his family in high regard.

Alec Baldwin, the Emmy-winning actor whose full name is Alexander Rae Baldwin III, was born on April 3, 1958. His parents are Alexander Rae Baldwin Jr. and Carol Newcomb, and he’s one of six children, being the oldest brother.

Today marks two years since his son’s cancer diagnosis, and Billy shared a post celebrating how much progress his son has made. He described his son as “one of the coolest, toughest kids you’ll ever know.”
