Iron Man Animated Series Reveals Disney+ Premiere Date (& Theme Song by Blink-182 Singer)

The exciting new preschool animated series titled “Marvel’s Iron Man and His Incredible Companions” is going all out to ensure that the show truly embodies its “incredible” moniker. The show, set to debut on Disney Jr. on Monday, August 11th, followed by Disney+ the next day, has assembled an extraordinary group of Iron Friends to keep viewers engaged. Tony Stark/Iron Man (Mason Blomberg), Riri Williams/Ironheart (Kapri Ladd), and Amadeus Cho/Iron Hulk (Aidyn Ahn) form the series’ primary characters and tech whizzes. In addition, Disney Jr. has recruited a renowned musician to breathe life into “Iron Man and His Incredible Friends“‘ theme song, an artist that parents of the show’s audience may find familiar.

Mark Hoppus, the Grammy-nominated bassist, vocalist, and co-founder of Blink-182, is responsible for writing and performing the theme song titled “Totally Awesome” for a new Disney series called Iron Friends. Disney gave us a sneak peek of this energetic tune today, along with a video introducing us to the Iron Friends characters. The complete song will be available as a digital single on June 27th, Friday. Despite not being the first pick to create a theme song for a preschool show, Hoppus skillfully adapted Blink-182’s popular pop-punk style to inspire both the series’ young characters and the children watching them to put on their armor and cherish their friendships.

Iron Man and His Awesome Friends Series Features Comedic Geniuses Too

The new Marvel series, titled “Iron Man and his Amazing Pals“, chronicles the escapades (and mishaps) of best friends and brilliant minds – Tony Stark, Riri Williams, and Amadeus Cho – as they collaborate to tackle a variety of issues, from minor inconveniences to major threats, while safeguarding their city. This show promises a fun, family-friendly narrative that appeals to viewers of all ages.

What sets this series apart is the darker twist Marvel and Disney Jr. are introducing through its antagonists. Emmy award winner Tony Hale, famed for his hilarious roles in Veep and Arrested Development, will voice Ultron, while Saturday Night Live alum Vanessa Bayer brings life to a female version of Swarm. The involvement of these talented actors ensures that Ultron and Swarm will not only pose a threat to the Iron Friends, but also provide plenty of laughs along the way.

Starting July 14th, Marvel is making the anticipation for the premiere of “Iron Man and His Awesome Friends” on August 11th a little more manageable by unveiling a series of ten shorts called “Meet Iron Man and His Awesome Friends“. These previews will be available both on TV and digitally. The short videos will introduce us to Tony, Riri, Amadeus, as well as other popular Marvel characters like Sam Wilson’s Captain America, Black Panther/T’Challa, and Aña Corazon as Iron Spider. With a host of beloved characters, a comedic voice cast for the villains, and a renowned punk musician providing the theme song, it seems that “Iron Man and his Awesome Friends” is shaping up to be an entertaining show for viewers of all ages, promising to be “totally awesome”.

The exciting series titled “Iron Man and His Remarkable Comrades” debuts on Monday, August 11, at 8:30 a.m. ET/PT on Disney Jr., with a repeat broadcast on Disney Channel the same day. The initial 10 episodes will be accessible starting from August 12th on Disney+ in the United States and selected international regions, as well as on Disney Jr. On Demand.
