Ironheart” Star Pushes for “Strange Academy

Marvel Studios’ recent additions to the MCU, such as Zelma Stanton, portrayed by Regan Aliyah, have left an unexpected mark and could reappear in future instalments. The enigmatic Mephisto is also rumored to join the fold. Zelma Stanton’s debut marks another step into the magical realms of the MCU and may pave the way for a show that has been on the brink of development for quite some time. Regan Aliyah, in her role as Zelma Stanton, is eager to be part of this exciting journey.

The second set of three episodes in Ironheart’s run wrapped up the series, featuring anticipated results, an extended appearance by Sacha Baron Cohen as Mephisto, and the debut of Zelma with her magical abilities. Zelma’s narrative hinted at Doctor Strange and the mystical training ground of Kamar-Taj. During an interview with Inverse about her part in Ironheart, Aliyah voiced her desire for Marvel to develop Strange Academy, a series reminiscent of Harry Potter, which could delve into the magical lore of the MCU. She stated:

“I hope that one day Marvel will progress with Strange Academy, a series that mirrors Harry Potter and could offer an in-depth exploration of the magic within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

I can only express optimism about the potential of Strange Academy. It has the ability to create something extraordinary and capture a market that is eagerly awaiting it. The success of Harry Potter lies in its ability to transport readers to a realm beyond their everyday lives, and many people yearn for this kind of experience today. They’re desperate for a fresh series they can fully embrace as fans once more. In my mind, Strange Academy could be the one to take that place.

Can ‘Strange Academy’ Fit the New Marvel Studios Model?

For a few years now, Marvel Studios has been working at a rapid pace, as instructed by former Disney CEO Bob Chapek, to maximize the franchise’s potential. This led to as many as four movies and up to six TV shows on Disney+ being released each year. Among the various titles rumored to be in development under the Marvel Television label was “Strange Academy“. However, these shows were temporarily halted when plans shifted, and Marvel Studios started scaling back its production. Now, it seems that “Strange Academy” might fit into the revised strategy.

Although Marvel Studios is yet to fully recapture the phenomenal success of five years ago, they are progressing towards the culmination of the Multiverse Saga and the introduction of the X-Men. It has been hinted that upcoming Disney+ shows might not center around major Marvel characters, but may instead include cameos by these figures in secondary roles. This setup appears to align perfectly with Strange Academy, where Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strane could make occasional appearances throughout the series.

Absolutely, Marvel Studios has quite a few projects in progress right now, such as two upcoming Avengers films, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and several other unnamed movies. At this point, Daredevil: Born Again and Vision Quest are confirmed to arrive on Disney+, leaving some space for additional shows like Strange Academy to potentially join the lineup.

A magical saga might serve as a key to unlocking additional magical realms within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, much like how WandaVision and Agatha All Along paved the way, potentially opening up possibilities for series like the speculated Midnight Suns and Doctor Strange 3, in addition to offering opportunities for Mephisto’s involvement in future projects as hinted by Marvel Studios before their final scheme for the cunning villain is revealed.
