Howard Stern is putting rumors to rest.
During the past month, whispers circulated among listeners about my potential departure from SiriusXM. But, during the September 8th broadcast, I took a moment to address these rumors and reassure everyone that I’m delighted to remain part of the SiriusXM family, sharing with my audience, “I am truly content at SiriusXM.
Naturally, at 71 years old, he wasn’t about to let his audience go without a laugh. So, he devised a joke involving Bravo’s Andy Cohen, who temporarily filled the time slot, claiming he was going to rename the show “Andy 100.
Cohen stated during his broadcast that everyone had been anticipating a significant declaration from Howard. However, things didn’t turn out as planned. He mentioned that the transition was intended to be smoother, but at this moment, he finds himself improvising.
Expressing it differently: The Bravo personality stoked listeners’ concerns about Stern potentially departing from SiriusXM, remarking about the radio personality, “It’s simply impossible for me to replace him.
For almost two decades, Stern, who initially gained fame with his solo radio program in the 80s, has been associated with SiriusXM. However, whispers about his show concluding started spreading around a month ago. These whispers grew so excessive that the show itself shared a collection of these rumors on social media to generate excitement for its forthcoming season.
In an exaggerated video teaser, the show declared, “Gossip magazines are buzzing,” as they announced Howard Stern’s comeback on August 15. “Howard Stern? Out of a job? Shut down?
The video acknowledged various reports, among them one statement by a reporter predicting “Howard Stern will face the guillotine,” which caused quite a commotion at the production’s main office.
The video proceeded with the question, “Were members of staff communicating with the media?” It also hinted at a suspicion, “Could it be that authors are holding back their finest humor? There seems to be a lot of confusion about the facts and whom to rely on.
In the end, the video provided clarification, quieting the speculation, as it confirmed Howard Stern’s original return date of Sept. 2 (later changed to Sept. 8).
The trailer hinted that all queries would be addressed, as only one individual with insider knowledge – Howard Stern – would disclose everything.
While Stern is staying put, keep reading for other star’s exits that left fans reeling…
As a devoted fan, I found myself reflecting on the recent announcements from the star-studded cast of Saturday Night Live, shared mere days apart. Each one of them chose to step away from the sketch comedy series ahead of its 51st season.
Longfellow and Walker each spent three seasons on SNL while Wakim exited after just one season.
Jax Taylor has shared that he won’t be part of The Valley for its third season, as fan worry over his actions in the second season continues to increase.
Currently, my priority lies in maintaining my sobriety, enhancing my mental well-being, and co-parenting effectively. In July 2025, I expressed this during a conversation, as I am navigating a challenging divorce from my estranged spouse, Brittany Cartwright. This period of reflection is crucial for me to evolve into the best person I can be-particularly for the sake of our son, Cruz.
Sofia Mattsson concluded her seven-year run on the long-standing soap opera in the summer of 2025, with her character, Sasha Gilmore, departing Port Charles for Paris.
Fans were taken aback in 2025 when news broke that Mehcad Brooks was departing the long-running NBC crime drama, just before the start of its 25th season.
Brooks, who joined the show in 2022, portrayed Detective Jalen Shaw for three seasons.
Actress Tracy Ifeachor, a prominent figure on the popular HBO Max show “The Pitt,” decided to depart from the show following the successful debut of its initial medical drama season.
On Instagram, July 10, the actress expressed her profound gratitude for the opportunity to portray Dr. Heather Collins in a groundbreaking season and production. She thanked all those who tuned in, watched, and showed support for Season 1, as well as those who shared their stories with her.
While fans might have anticipated that Pedro Pascal’s character Joel Miller would meet his end in the second season of “The Last of Us,” given his death in April 2025 mirrored his demise in the video game’s sequel, released in 2020, it was still shocking to see him brutally impaled on screen.
Meanwhile, Pascal, who met an onscreen demise in both ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’, accepted his frequent death roles with humor. When asked by ‘Entertainment Weekly’, he quipped, “I get killed a lot… I enjoy dying.
Following what he referred to as “an exhilarating journey,” Peter Krause formally wrapped up his portrayal of Bobby Nash, the Los Angeles Fire Department captain in the TV series 9-1-1, on an episode that aired in April 2025. This marks a significant change in the procedural drama.
Bobby Nash’s character was crafted as a tribute and he was designed with this role in mind, Krause stated to the Hollywood Reporter. Emergency personnel put their lives at risk for their duties, allowing others to live on. His narrative trajectory pays homage to these heroes.
Discussing the controversial death of a popular, albeit troubled, firefighter character, showrunner Tim Minear told Variety, “It was indeed a heated subject matter, but after eight years in the series, it seemed necessary to instill a sense of genuine danger and tension if we wish to continue crafting compelling stories with real consequences.
Summer just got a little less fun.

The Giggly Squad podcast cohost expressed gratitude to their fans on Instagram, reflecting on the last 7 summers spent together and cherishing the memories, camaraderie, and opportunities they’ve shared. However, just as with every good experience (and perhaps some missteps), it’s now time for this part of their journey to come to an end.

She shared on social media in July 2023: “My college friends relocated me to Los Angeles, introducing me to some wonderful individuals whom I now consider my favorites. Two and a half years on, they have brought me not only these people but also this vibrant community.

Ellen Pompeo, who had played Meredith Grey for 19 years, closed her tenure as a regular character on the ABC drama, doing her final round of preparation (or “scrubbing in”) in February 2023.
On The Drew Barrymore Show in December 2022, Pompeo expressed the need for change, stating, “I need to shake things up a bit.” At 53 years old, she feels her brain is like scrambled eggs and needs something fresh. Just as you can’t do the New York Times crossword puzzle every day, Pompeo wants new experiences too.
In a recent disclosure, the actor who starred in “Batman vs. Superman”, Henry Cavill, shared his decision to depart from the Netflix fantasy series after its third season. Notably, Liam Hemsworth has been selected to take over the role of Geralt starting from season four, and there’s a possibility he could continue in this capacity beyond that point.
In an Instagram post from October 2022, Henry Cavill expressed that his role as Geralt of Rivia has been a blend of challenges and exciting experiences, filled with monstrous foes and thrilling escapades. Regrettably, he will be relinquishing his medallion and swords at the end of Season 4.

After five seasons, Damian Lewis departed Showtime’s Billions in Oct. 2021.
Back in August 2021, it became known that Emily VanCamp had said a final farewell to her medical gear, having left the TV show “The Resident” on Fox.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’d rephrase that as:
After three enchanting seasons of being part of the Charmed sisterhood, I, Madeleine Mantock, felt it was my time to move on. The role of Macy, the eldest sister in the CW reboot, has been an immense privilege for me. In a heartfelt statement, I expressed my deep gratitude towards our exceptional team of producers, creatives, and the incredible cast and crew who made every day on set a joy to be a part of.
By making this declaration ahead of season four in 2021, I am eager to embark on new adventures while cherishing the magical memories created with my Charmed family.
As it turns out, I never got to uncover Raymond Reddington’s true identity on The Blacklist, as Megan Boone decided to depart from NBC at the close of season eight. Regrettably, her character, Elizabeth Keen, met her end before she could lay eyes on the letter that would have shed light on everything. In 2021, Boone bid farewell to Liz’s journey with an Instagram post where she labeled it a “dream.
In the second installment of “Bridgerton”, one duke was noticeably absent. Fans were heartbroken when they learned that the charismatic and captivating character played by Rege-Jean Page would not be part of the series moving forward in 2021, as he had been the standout star of Netflix’s acclaimed drama.
Later on, he clarified to Vanity Fair, “I accepted a task, completed it, and then proceeded with some additional tasks.” He added, “That sums it up. That’s the entire tale. I was hoping for something more captivating than that.

After airing one season on The CW, she announced her departure from the role just two days after the finale aired in 2020. Later on in season two, Kate got a bit of a face swap and returned played by Wallis Day.
In 2020, America Ferrera chose to part ways with the show Superstore at the end of season five. This meant that Cloud 9 was left without a manager and the series lacked its main lead. However, due to the pandemic, she appeared in the first two episodes of season six. When it was decided that season six would be the final one, she came back for the series finale to provide Ben Feldman‘s characters Amy and Jonah with a satisfying conclusion.
In the final episode of the fourth season of The Magicians on Syfy, Jason Ralph’s character Quentin successfully completed his mission to save Eliot (Hale Appleman), but paid the ultimate price by sacrificing himself. Although the show is known for bringing back deceased characters, Ralph did not reappear in the fifth and final season.
Ahead of the final season, Arrow‘s Emily Bett Rickards announced her exit in a poem of sorts.
Felicity and I have a very strong bond, but after days one through seven, we’ll be taking our leave from you,” she wrote.
She did, however, return for a guest appearance in the show’s 2020 series finale.
In 2018, after a long period of contract discussions, Lauren Cohan said goodbye to “The Walking Dead.” Although she appeared in several episodes of season nine, her character Maggie Greene was missing following a time jump of six years. The producers hoped she would reappear in some form for season 10, and when her TV show “Whiskey Cavalier” was terminated, their wish came true. Cohan made a triumphant comeback in the 16th episode of season 10, which was broadcast in October 2020.
Following closely after Cohan and Andrew Lincoln leaving the zombie drama, Gurira also announced her departure. She first appeared on the AMC series during its third season as the katana-wielding Michonne, and made her final appearance in an episode from season 10, which aired in March 2020.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but gush over the brilliant Nicollette Sheridan, who graced our screens as the legendary Alexis Carrington in both seasons one and two! Despite my deep sadness, I wholeheartedly understand her decision to step away from the CW reboot before season three. With her mother’s health needing her undivided attention, it’s clear that family comes first for this talented actress. ✨
In the year 2019, during the third season, George Eads decided to step away from the CBS reboot, as he wished to devote more attention to his loved ones.
The popular series, Fox’s “Lethal Weapon”, has seen its fair share of cast departures. Actor Clayne Crawford was let go from the show after the second season and Damon Wayans, his on-screen partner, announced his intention to leave the successful drama after completing a 13-episode third season in December 2018. In October of that year, he stated, “I’m going to be quitting the show in December… I don’t know what their plans are, but that’s my plan.” Wayans, a 58-year-old diabetic, was working long hours of up to 16 per day and found himself saying, “I’m too old for this.
