Is Lily Allen Really Selling Butt Plugs? The Truth About New Merch

Lily Allen is actually not talking about a low blow, oh no.

The singer, known for her song “Fk You,” recently released new merchandise related to her breakup album, West End Girl. One item sparked conversation online due to its resemblance to a personal item, but it’s not actually what it appears to be.

Currently available on Lily’s online store for $33.99, this USB drive is a playful reference to a line in her song “Psy Palace” from the West End Girl track. The lyric mentions, “Duane Reade back with the handles tied / Sex toys, butt plugs / lube inside,” and the USB is designed to allude to that imagery.

Beyond playfully referencing the song’s suggestive lyrics, the item’s blue and white polka dot pattern echoes the jacket worn by the singer on her album cover – a similar blue and white polka dotted puffer coat.

Lily naturally promoted the new item, sharing it on her Instagram with a peach and plug emoji, and announcing a limited-time merchandise release on December 3rd.

However, the description for the device emphasized that it is “intended for data storage only.”

Lily’s new album release has been making waves for more than just a surprising accessory. Following the release of her breakup songs last month, many fans wondered if she was hinting at cheating in her marriage to actor David Harbour, from the show Stranger Things. The couple announced their split in December 2024.

In her song “Tennis,” Lily recalls a moment when someone showed her a photo on Instagram. She remembers them quickly snatching their phone back, and she admits to reading their texts, something she now wishes she hadn’t done. The song also mentions someone named Madeline.

TopMob News tried contacting David’s representatives about Lily’s album, but they didn’t receive a response.

I’ve been a huge fan of Lily for years, and it’s so relatable to hear her talk about her new album. She shared that she created it to work through everything she was feeling after her split from David, especially while navigating life with her daughters, Ethel and Marnie, and co-parenting with their dad, Sam Cooper. It’s brave of her to be so open about using her music to process such a difficult time.

She told British Vogue that while some details about her marriage have been made public, they aren’t necessarily completely accurate. She explained that her work is based on her experiences within the relationship, but it’s more of an interpretation than a strict recounting of events.
