Right before this moment, a powerful magnetic force had already destroyed most of the human fleet, tearing apart any ships or planes that ventured too near. General Ardmore was seemingly killed just a short time ago when her ship was caught in this same force. Based on everything viewers have witnessed, it appears impossible to survive being caught in its pull.

Despite seemingly fatal injuries, it’s likely that Quaritch didn’t actually die. The movie doesn’t show him crashing or any evidence of his death, suggesting he might still be alive and planning revenge. Although the novel Fire & Ash doesn’t state his fate outright, it’s reasonable to believe he survived and could return as a threat to the Sully family in future installments.

Will Quaritch Return for Avatar 4?

Most signs point to Colonel Miles Quaritch coming back in Avatar 4, and potentially in future installments as well. He’s been the primary villain throughout the Avatar series since the beginning, and it appears that will continue. James Cameron hinted at this in 2017, suggesting Quaritch will be the central antagonist for the entire story on Pandora.

Since he stated back in 2017 that the character Quaritch would be back for the fourth and fifth films, it’s safe to assume that will happen. This confirms that Quaritch didn’t actually die at the end of Fire & Ash and will return to seek revenge on the Sully family.
