It’s astonishing how quickly The Bear has completed four seasons. The series, which launched on Hulu in June 2022, introduced us to the Berzatto family, who ran a beef restaurant in Chicago. Following the tragic death of his older brother, Michael, the youngest son, Carmen, returned home. With his international culinary experience, he transformed the original Beef of Chicagoland. Initially, the staff found his approach off-putting, but they eventually warmed up to him and took pride in their work, particularly once the eatery was rebranded as The Bear.
In the current season 4 of “The Bear,” now streaming on Hulu, the focus shifts from the caliber of the work to a desperate struggle against impending deadlines. The main financier of the eponymous restaurant, Uncle Jimmy, sets a deadline for Carmy and the team to demonstrate financial improvement, or else they will have to shut down within a few months. Amidst their efforts to keep the business afloat, it remains uncertain whether their progress is sufficient or if another season lies ahead to unravel the story further.
How Does The Bear Season 4 End?

In the second-to-last episode of Season 4 of The Bear, the kitchen timer is precariously nearing its end. The staff manages to pull off another service, and with Marcus being highlighted in an upcoming issue of Food & Wine magazine, morale is up. Everything runs smoothly until the season finale, where Carmy notices Sydney appears displeased. In the final scene, Sydney reveals that Pete informed her about a modification to the partnership agreement, which now only includes her, Sugar, and Jimmy as stakeholders. This revelation triggers Sydney’s confrontation of Carmy, suspecting he might be planning to depart. Minutes later, Carmy admits this suspicion is true.
In simpler terms, at the end of Season 4 of The Bear, Carmy announces that he’s tired of his high-pressure job and wants to discover who he is beyond the kitchen. He promises to pay off their debts before leaving, but Richie and Sydney are unconvinced. Everyone expresses their feelings, and Sugar, sensing the gravity of the situation, comforts her brother instead of criticizing him further. The season ends with a clock counting down, suggesting that Carmy is preparing to leave, and FX has yet to decide whether there will be a fifth season.
Is The Bear Returning for Season 5?
Although the dramatic ending of Season 4, The Bear has not been confirmed for a Season 5 as yet. According to Variety, the cast has signed on for another season, but creator Christopher Storer is hesitant to make the decision. The delay seems to be due to the cast members’ increased workloads and the slow progress in scriptwriting. Despite the fact that four seasons were released over a three-year period, it looks like there could be a significant gap before Season 5 starts. This is the price of creating exceptional shows today.
