It’s hard to believe that The Elder Scrolls 6 was first shown back in 2018, especially considering Skyrim was released in 2011. Bethesda is known for taking a long time to develop games, and many fans feel they announced TES6 before it was really ready.
Fans are always eager for any news about their favorite games, whether it comes directly from developers like Todd Howard at Bethesda, or from subtle hints online. This recent post on X (formerly Twitter) from Geoff Keighley is a perfect example – he’s probably building excitement for the upcoming Game Awards.
The Game Awards Teaser Has Elder Scrolls 6 Fans On Standby
Fans Are Always Ready For Signs Of Life
Geoff Keighley has sparked a lot of excitement online after posting about a strange statue he found in Joshua Tree, California. The statue is covered in figures that look like demons, and fans on Reddit have been visiting it. Many believe it’s a clue related to the upcoming game, The Elder Scrolls 6. Some people have pointed out the statue’s resemblance to the Seekers, creatures from the Elder Scrolls universe.
Despite the recent excitement, many Elder Scrolls fans are losing patience. It’s been a long time since any major news about the next game, and we still haven’t seen much gameplay. One Reddit user, Egonomics1, joked that the wait has led to fans imagining things instead of waiting for a real trailer. Announcing a game in 2018 and then remaining silent for over seven years is bound to create that kind of reaction.
Okay, so another fan, Scytian, pointed something out that makes a lot of sense. They were saying that the creatures we’ve been seeing definitely don’t look like anything from The Elder Scrolls. They look way more like the classic undead or demons you’d find in games like DOOM or Diablo, which probably means it’s not a DOOM game either!
Keep Those Expectations In Check, Though
It Might Not Be Elder Scrolls After All
This short preview probably isn’t related to The Elder Scrolls 6. While some fans think it could be about God of War, it’s more likely a teaser for the next Diablo expansion. It would also make sense for The Game Awards to showcase something for a game that already exists.
Fans are eagerly awaiting news about The Elder Scrolls 6, even though they were initially disappointed by the lack of updates after it was announced. When the game finally releases – and it’s almost certain to be available on Xbox Game Pass – it’s expected to be very popular. Microsoft and Bethesda are likely aiming for it to surpass Skyrim in success (and potentially release multiple remastered versions), so we can expect a lot of promotion and previews leading up to its launch.
