It Ends With Us Author Colleen Hoover Shares Cancer Diagnosis

Colleen Hoover is opening up about her health journey.

As many of you know, I’ve been navigating a health challenge, and I wanted to share a bit of an update. I’m currently finishing up radiation treatment after being diagnosed with cancer. It’s been a tough journey, but I’m feeling hopeful as I get closer to the end of this phase of my treatment. I’m so grateful for the support I’ve received and wanted to be open about what’s been going on.

On January 12th, she shared on Instagram that she was nearing the end of her radiation treatment – it was her second to last day. While jokingly suggesting her hair and expressions weren’t at their best, she praised the care she received from Texas Oncology, saying she highly recommends them, hoping no one ever needs their services, but that they are excellent.

The latest update on Hoover’s health follows her recent announcement about being diagnosed with cancer, and her acknowledgment of the challenges she faces during treatment.

I recently received some interesting news from my genetic testing. It turns out my cancer wasn’t linked to my family history, and surprisingly, it wasn’t caused by HPV or hormonal imbalances either. As a lifestyle expert, this really hit home – it strongly suggests my cancer developed due to factors I had control over, like not getting enough exercise, a less-than-ideal diet, and chronic stress. It’s a powerful reminder that our daily habits truly impact our health.

Hoover jokingly admitted he’s glad to be alive, despite a few strong dislikes. He really doesn’t like vegetables, getting up from the couch, or sweating. He even hates being proven wrong by science! He says if you see him at the gym, don’t offer encouragement, and if he’s ordering grilled chicken and water at a restaurant, he’s likely very unhappy about it.

In late October, the author of Regretting You shared that she would be unable to attend the film’s premiere and other planned events because of necessary surgery.

Colleen Hoover announced she won’t be able to moderate the book signing with Lukas Gage this month, or attend the premiere of “Regretting You,” due to an unavoidable surgery and recovery period. She shared the news on Instagram with photos of her and Gage, expressing her disappointment about being unable to travel.

Hoover then asked her fans to share their thoughts and experiences after seeing her movie, which came out later that month.

She added that she’d be experiencing the event through everyone else, expressing her disappointment at missing the movie’s release and premiere, but also sharing her thanks to the cast and crew for all their hard work.
