I’ve had the pleasure of observing that Phineas and Ferb are back on our screens this summer, a whole decade since their original show concluded. However, it appears we’ll have to exercise some patience as the new revival seems to be taking its sweet time. This duo bid farewell to Disney in 2015, leaving fans yearning for a comeback. In the interim, the franchise managed to keep us entertained with some new feature films and smaller projects. But this summer, our wait finally came to an end as Season 5 of Phineas and Ferb graced our screens once more.
The comeback of the beloved series “Phineas and Ferb” has been a hit among fans, as it reunited the original team for fresh, zany storylines continuing from where the story previously ended. After the debut of the initial ten episodes, Disney revealed during their 2025 San Diego Comic-Con panel dedicated to the show (as announced through a press release) that the next installment of “Phineas and Ferb” episodes will air on Disney Channel and Disney+ in the following year.
What’s Next for Phineas and Ferb?
In 2026, fresh installments of the popular show “Phineas and Ferb” are set to air on Disney+ and The Disney Channel, though a specific release date or timeframe is still unknown at the moment. However, there’s another exciting piece of news for fans: Disney has unveiled “Cartoonified with Phineas and Ferb,” a special series of shorts where Phineas and Ferb will transform celebrity guests into cartoon characters and embark on zany adventures each week as part of the show.
The upcoming installments of the “Phineas and Ferb” mini-series will feature notable guests such as Kylie Cantrall, Mark Rober, Avantika, Brittany Broski, Walker Scobell, and Xochitl Gomez. These episodes are set to air on Disney Channel and its social media channels throughout the year. It’s evident that Disney is fully committed to reintroducing “Phineas and Ferb” as the series has consistently been one of the most successful original animated programs aired by the network. With new episodes in production, it seems that this revival is only gaining momentum.

Why Did Phineas and Ferb Come Back?
In an interview with ComicBook before the recent comeback this Summer, Phineas and Ferb co-creator Jeff “Swampy” Marsh shared that Disney wanted to keep things as they were, saying, “They told us, ‘We simply want more Phineas. We don’t believe it needs fixing. However, feel free to do whatever you wish with it. We trust you to create this show.’ My aim has always been for viewers watching the fourth season to seamlessly transition into the fifth, without noticing a change or disruption. It would just seem like, ‘Here are fresh new episodes!’
This turned out to be delightful news for the creator duo, “When they eventually phoned and said, ‘Yes, we truly want to produce more, and we simply want more of the same.’ I was elated because I didn’t want to rework or reshape it. I just liked what we were making, and I thought there were still stories left to share. Yet, this doesn’t mean we didn’t have apprehensions about not finding fresh ideas, but it was exhilarating to continue the work.
