It’s Official, King of the Hill’s Revival Is Getting A Renewal

I’m so excited – King of the Hill is back! After fifteen years off the air, the show made a surprise return this summer with a brand new series on Hulu, and it’s been fantastic. The whole original cast and crew are back, and critics are loving it – it even debuted with a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes! And the best news? Hulu has already announced they’re making another season, so we’ll be getting even more King of the Hill!

I’m absolutely thrilled with how well Season 14 of King of the Hill has been received! Honestly, it was expected – the hype was huge even before it dropped. And now Hulu has announced they’re releasing Seasons 16 and 17, which is amazing news! Season 14 really mixes things up for the show, and I’m so curious to see where they take things with these next seasons. With Season 15 coming next year, we’re going to get a lot more time in Arlen, Texas, and I can’t wait!

What to Know for King of the Hill’s Revival

As of right now, there’s no confirmed release date for King of the Hill seasons 16 and 17, but they are planned to launch on Hulu. All previous seasons, including the newly announced season 14 (which has ten episodes), are currently available to stream on both Hulu and Hulu on Disney+. Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, the original creators of the show, are returning, with Saladin K. Patterson as the showrunner for the new episodes.

The revival of King of the Hill brings back many of the original voice actors, including Kathy Najimy, Stephen Root, Pamela Adlon, and Lauren Tom. Jonathan Joss recorded his lines as John Redcorn before his passing, and the late Johnny Hardwick was able to record some new material as Dale Gribble before he died. Toby Huss, who originally voiced Cotton Hill, will now voice Dale moving forward. There have also been a few other changes to the cast.

What’s New for King of the Hill’s Revival?

Season 14 of King of the Hill features several new voice actors and characters. Keith David joins the cast as Brian Robertson, a character who looked after Hank and Peggy’s house while they were abroad. Anthony “Citric” Campos plays Emilio, a coworker of Bobby’s at his new Dallas restaurant. The show also introduces some recasting: Ronnie Chieng now voices Kahn Souphanousinphone, and Kenneth Choi, Ki Hong Lee, and Tai Leclaire join as Ted Wassanasong, Chane Wassanasong, and Joseph Gribble, respectively.

The new season of King of the Hill picks up about eight years later. Hank and Peggy Hill have finished working in Saudi Arabia to save for retirement and are now back in their hometown of Arlen, Texas. They’re eager to reconnect with their friends Dale, Boomhauer, and Bill. Meanwhile, Bobby is pursuing his passion as a chef in Dallas and is enjoying life in his twenties with his old friends Connie, Joseph, and Chane.
