ITV’s Benidorm star reveals major update on potential revival amid fan speculation

It seems like there’s talk of Benidorm returning again! Although ITV hasn’t explicitly confirmed this, actress Sherrie Hewson has shared some intriguing insights about the possibility.

The actress known for her powerful portrayal of Joyce Temple-Savage has mentioned that scripts for a possible new season have been penned and submitted to ITV executives, who find them exceptional.

At An Evening with Sherrie Hewson, the actress shared that she understands ITV has fresh scripts and they are quite fond of them, finding them exceptional.

However, Hewson added, “Benidorm presents a challenge due to its high production cost. This is primarily because it’s filmed in Spain and requires both Spanish and British crews.

However, it airs twice daily every single day, and its ratings remain just as impressive as before. Therefore, I believe it is likely to make a comeback.

She further added that she believes bosses find the scripts delightful, and Derren Litten chuckled as he penned them.

“So I don’t think there’s any question, it’s just when,” she said.

Previously this year, Hewson hinted at the potential return of it, and shortly after, Litten added more optimism to the speculation.

During a Facebook Live broadcast, as reported by The Sun, Litten playfully hinted: “Indeed, have I had conversations with ITV over the past few months? The answer is affirmative.

Is ITV currently working on a special or series? No, but there’s a possibility within the upcoming weeks or months. Yes, it’s possible.

I’m hoping it provides you with a bit of optimism, and also offers some insight into our current position.
