Ivanka Trump will always keep a piece of her momwith her.
Nearly four years after Ivana Trump died at 73, the 44-year-old tearfully detailed her grief journey.
Ivanka Trump, daughter of President Donald Trump, spoke emotionally on the April 8th episode of The Diary of a CEO podcast. Through tears, she said of her mother, “She lived a good life. I keep reminding myself that she really lived and had fun, and she taught me so much.”
One thing her mom instilled in her was “bringing intention to what you do.”
Ivanka described her mother as truly authentic and full of life. She was happy, loved to dance, and enjoyed playing, and overall, lived a fulfilling life.
It hasn’t been easy since Ivana Trump passed away in July 2022 after a fall in her New York City apartment.
Ivanka Trump shared with Steven Bartlett that losing a parent is uniquely difficult, particularly when it’s sudden. She added that the COVID-19 pandemic made the experience even harder for many, as it took years away from people’s lives.
While her father was president, Ivanka Trump worked in Washington, D.C.
We were far apart from each other, simply because of where we lived. But we make a real effort to remember and honor her.

As a mother to Arabella (13), Joseph (10), and Theodore (8) with her husband Jared Kushner, she emphasized how important it is for her to carry on the qualities she admired in Ivana.
Ivanka reflected that she’d finally considered her mother as an adult, not just how she’d seen her as a child. She thought about her mother’s positive qualities and difficulties, and explained that as a parent, she wants to ensure her own children understand the full picture – both the wonderful aspects and the complexities – of her mother’s life and share that story with them.

Ivana Trump, the first wife of Donald Trump, was born in Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic) in 1949. She was a skilled skier and gained the ability to travel internationally after marrying Austrian ski instructor Alfred Winklmayr in 1971.
According to her book, Raising Trump, she met Donald in New York in 1976, while there for a fashion show. They married in 1977 and had three children: Donald Trump Jr. (born 1977), Ivanka Trump (born 1981), and Eric Trump (born 1984).
The couple divorced in 1992 after Donald had an affair with Marla Maples, whom he later married. Ivana herself remarried twice, first to Riccardo Mazzucchelli for two years, and then to Rossano Rubicondi for less than a year, but remained friendly with Donald.
In a 2017 interview with ABC News, Ivana described the divorce as a difficult “business deal” for Donald, but noted they eventually became friends.
Ivana Trump passed away in 2022 at the age of 73. Authorities determined her death was accidental, caused by injuries sustained in a fall down the stairs in her New York apartment.

Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of Ivana and Donald Trump, was born in 1977. He earned a degree in finance and real estate from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School in 2000 and joined his father’s company, The Trump Organization, in 2001. He currently holds the position of executive vice president there.
Beyond The Trump Organization, Don Jr. is a director at Trump Media & Technology Group Corp, PublicSquare Holdings, and 1789 Capital. He’s also been a prominent supporter of his father’s political campaigns, frequently speaking at rallies and conventions.
Don Jr. and his ex-wife, model Vanessa Haydon, share five children: Kai (who spoke at the 2024 Republican National Convention), Donald III, Tristan, Spencer, and Chloe.
Don Jr. was previously engaged to Kimberly Guilfoyle, but they have since ended their engagement, remaining close friends. He has since been linked to Bettina Anderson. Vanessa is currently dating Tiger Woods.

I’ve been following Ivanka Trump for years, ever since she was born four years after her brother, Don Jr. Before her father became president, she built a successful career at The Trump Organization. When he was elected in 2016, she stepped into a really important role as his Advisor, even while running her own fashion brand. But when my favorite announced he was running again in 2024, Ivanka made a tough decision. She shared that she’s going to focus on her family – her husband, Jared Kushner, and their adorable kids, Arabella, Joseph, and Theodore. She said in a statement that she loves her father deeply, but this time she’s choosing to prioritize her children and build a more private family life, and won’t be involved in the political side of things. It’s a big change, but I understand wanting to focus on what matters most.

As a lifestyle observer, I’ve followed the Trump family for years. Eric Trump, born in 1984, is one of Donald and Ivana Trump’s children. He’s a Georgetown University graduate with a background in finance and management. Since 2007, he’s been deeply involved with The Trump Organization, currently serving as an Executive Vice President. Beyond that, Eric has a passion for wine and currently leads Trump Winery. On a personal note, he’s married to Lara Trump, who’s a prominent figure with the Republican National Committee, and together they’re raising their two children, Luke and Carolina.

Marla Maples is Donald’s second wife, whom he met while still married to Ivana.
In her book, Raising Trump, Ivana Trump claimed actress Marla Maples discussed an affair with her during a 1989 trip to Aspen. However, in a 2018 podcast interview on Journeys of Faith with Paula Faris, Maples stated she didn’t see herself as a mistress. She explained that she never intended to cause pain and wished the relationship with Donald Trump had begun after his divorce was finalized, which she believes would have spared many people heartache. Maples and Donald Trump had a daughter, Tiffany Trump, in 1993 and married later that year. They announced their separation four years after the wedding and officially divorced in 1999.

I’ve always been fascinated by Tiffany Trump’s journey. After her parents divorced, she and her mom moved to California, and she’s spoken about how that move was really about giving her a chance to grow up away from the intense spotlight and forge her own path. She wanted me to have a normal childhood, as much as possible, and I think she really succeeded. Beyond being known as a Trump, Tiffany pursued her education seriously, earning a degree in sociology from the University of Pennsylvania and then going on to Georgetown Law. She’s clearly built a life for herself! It was wonderful to see her marry Michael Boulos in 2022, and then, in October 2024, her father announced they were expecting! Finally, in May 2025, little Alexander Trump Boulos arrived, and Tiffany shared the sweetest message online about how much they already love him. It’s just lovely to see her so happy and building her own family.

Melania Trump is the current First Lady and Donald Trump’s third wife. Born in Slovenia in 1970, she is only the second First Lady born outside the United States and the first to become a naturalized U.S. citizen.
Melania met Donald in New York City in 1996 while working as a model. She remembers meeting him at a fashion event organized by a friend during fashion week.
They married in 2005 and had a son, Barron Trump, in 2006.
In 2024, Melania released her memoir, also titled Melania, and is featured in an upcoming documentary. She has also discussed her plans for how she’ll spend her time if her husband is re-elected as president.
In an interview on Fox & Friends that aired January 13th, she stated she’ll be at the White House as needed, and will also travel to New York and Palm Beach when necessary. She emphasized that her top priorities are being a mother, First Lady, and wife, and that after January 20th, her focus will be serving the country.

Barron Trump, born in 2006, is the only child of Donald and Melania Trump. He’s generally lived a private life, moving from New York to Washington D.C. and then Florida with his parents. In May 2024, he was chosen as a delegate to the Republican National Convention from Florida, but he decided not to participate, citing prior commitments.
Those commitments likely include his studies, as Barron began his freshman year at New York University in 2024, attending the Stern School of Business. His father mentioned he had been accepted to multiple colleges.
Despite his busy schedule, Barron plans to visit his family at the White House and was present at his father’s inauguration ceremony in January 2025, according to his mother.
