Jaafar Jackson Details Prince Jackson, Bigi Jackson’s Support for Film

This support knocked Jaafar Jackson off his feet.

I was so touched to see the premiere of the new Michael Jackson biopic in Germany! Jermaine Jackson’s son, who plays Michael in the film, had a beautiful family showing of support – his cousins, Prince and Bigi (also known as Blanket) Jackson, were right there with him. It was a really special moment for the whole family.

Honestly, having my cousins and the rest of my family at the premiere meant the world to me. As Will Marfuggi from TopMob News heard me say on April 20th, this film is a family story at its heart, and it all began in my hometown of Gary, Indiana. Their presence just made everything feel complete.

The international launch felt like a family reunion. Prince, 29, and Bigi, 24, were there, along with Jaafar’s father, Jermaine Jackson, and uncles Marlon Jackson and Jackie Jackson. They all gathered for a group photo.

The film’s European premiere was especially meaningful for the 29-year-old.

Jaafar shared that being in Berlin and Europe felt particularly meaningful. He noted that Michael had a deep affection for Europe and Germany, having spent considerable time there.

As Michael prepares for the film’s worldwide release on April 24th, he’s been thinking about how audiences will react to seeing his early career portrayed on screen.

He hopes viewers will gain a comprehensive understanding of Michael’s life, from his childhood through adulthood, and learn about the events that shaped key moments in his life. Ultimately, he wants the documentary to leave people feeling inspired, energized, and eager to learn more.

Jermaine simply stated that Jaafar’s father is “extremely proud” of his son for portraying Michael.

After all, “He’s a hard worker,” he added of his son. “He deserved the part.”

The 71-year-old also recounted the first time he saw Jaafar in costume as the King of Pop.

“I thought I was looking at Michael,” he admitted. “I started crying.”

Marlon, too, can’t wrap his head around how well his nephew embodied his late brother.

I remember telling Jaafar, ‘You’re just incredible!’ It really struck me because he was so concerned with getting everything perfect – he was clearly worried about not meeting our expectations, about letting us down. He just wanted to please everyone, and it was honestly amazing to see.

Which is why Marlon assured him, “‘Man, you’re unbelievable. Trust me.’”
