Jack Osbourne Shares Heartbreaking Tribute to Late Dad Ozzy Osbourne

Jack Osbourne is honoring his father Ozzy Osbourne.

The former cast member of the Osbournes posted his first message on social media following the passing of his father at age 76, on July 22. This heartfelt post included a moving compilation of unique, previously unseen images and videos of the Black Sabbath rocker with his loved ones.

In a post on August 6th, Jack wrote, “I’ve found it difficult to share anything since the loss of my father, as my heart has been heavily burdened. To keep things brief, as he disliked lengthy talks, I’ll wrap up this message quickly.

He was admired in many ways by numerous people, but I was incredibly fortunate to be one of the few who could refer to him as ‘Father.’ He went on, “My heart is heavy with sadness and sorrow, yet brimming with love and gratitude. I had the privilege of spending 14,501 days with that man, and I recognize how truly fortunate I am.

The 39-year-old, who Ozzy shares with Sharon Osbourne and also has Aimee Osbourne (41) and Kelly Osbourne (40), later posted a quote by Hunter S. Thompson that he felt encapsulated his late father’s spirit.

Instead of aiming for a long, healthy life without incident, it’s better to live life passionately, pushing limits, experiencing all it has to offer, and exclaiming excitedly, “What an amazing journey!” upon reaching the finish line.

Jack added, “That was my dad. He lived and he lived his life fully. I love you dad.”

In a touching homage, a youthful Jack reminisced about Howard Stern, expressing his admiration for having Ozzy as his dad. The narrative unfolded with various pictures of them throughout their years displayed on screen, showcasing their bond as father and son.

Towards the end of the video, Jack, who has four daughters – Pearl Clementine (13), Andy Rose (10), Minnie Theodora (7) from his ex Lisa Shelly, and Maple Artemis (3) with his wife Aree Gearheart – posted heartwarming images showcasing Ozzy as a loving grandfather enjoying time with Jack’s daughters.

Alongside moments where Maple displayed enthusiasm for viewing Ozzy’s television performances and even attending his last live show in person, the former star of Jack Osbourne’s Haunted Homecoming also included these scenes.

In a heartfelt homage, young Jack began by expressing to Howard Stern how awesome it was to have Ozzy as his dad. He then displayed numerous pictures showing their relationship from his childhood to adulthood.

Towards the end of the video, Jack, who has children Pearl Clementine (13), Andy Rose (10), and Minnie Theodora (7) with his ex Lisa Shelly, as well as Maple Artemis (3) with his wife Aree Gearheart, posted heartwarming photos showcasing Ozzy in his role as a loving grandfather, spending quality time with Jack’s daughters.

In addition, the former star of “Jack Osbourne’s Haunted Homecoming” occasionally expressed enthusiasm when viewing clips of Ozzy performing on television and was fortunate enough to witness him live during his last show.

She went on to say, “He stood by my side through it all, and I will forever be grateful to him for raising my husband and bestowing upon me the joy of family.” She added, “We always have Nana and Papa watching over us. Please continue sending us signs from beyond. We’ll make sure your name is spoken, your stories are passed down, and your love protects us like a shield. Always our hero.

In response to the post, Aree publicly expressed her affection for her husband by saying, “I adore you,” and at the age of 34, she also paid tribute to her late father-in-law by sharing a heartfelt message accompanied by emotional family photos featuring Ozzy with his grandkids.

On Instagram, August 3, Aree posted: “I’m almost certain that I have the most awesome father-in-law and the greatest dad for my kids. The world found a rockstar, but we got an ice cream loving, goofy, heartfelt man who makes us laugh like nobody else.

She added, “He stood by my side through it all, and I will forever be grateful to him for raising my husband and granting me the joy of family.” She continued, “We have Nana and Papa with us always. Please continue sending us signs from beyond. We’ll make sure your name is remembered, your tales are passed on, and your love protects us like a shield. You will always be our hero.

Hailing from Birmingham, England, the legendary rocker known as Ozzy Osbourne, also recognized as John Michael Osbourne, was born in 1948. It wasn’t until two decades later that his heavy metal band Black Sabbath, which he co-founded with Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward, made their debut.

In 1971, Ozzy exchanged vows with Thelma Riley. Their union produced children named Louis and Jessica Osbourne, who joined Elliot Kingsley, Thelma’s son from a previous relationship. However, the rock star discovered that fame came with its own set of dark challenges.

“Money could buy the alcohol and the drugs,” he admitted in the 2020 documentary ‘Biography: The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne’. “I behaved abominably.”

In 1979, Ozzy was dismissed from Black Sabbath and embarked on his solo career. He and Thelma parted ways in 1982 and tied the knot with Sharon Osbourne (whose father managed Black Sabbath) that same year.

Throughout their marriage, Ozzy and Sharon were open about their struggles-such as a 1989 incident where he physically assaulted her under the influence, and the 2016 separation attributed to infidelity-as well as their triumphs, welcoming children Aimee, Kelly, and Jack Osbourne in the ’80s and renewing their vows in 2017.

Many of the family’s highs and lows were chronicled on their reality show ‘The Osbournes’, which ran from 2002 to 2005.

Later, Ozzy took a step back from the limelight due to health issues, including battles with Parkinson’s disease and surgeries for injuries sustained in a 2003 ATV accident. He performed in Black Sabbath’s final show in July 2025 and passed away weeks later at the age of 76.

In 1979, Sharon, born in 1952, took on the role of Ozzy’s manager following his departure from Black Sabbath, a position that later evolved into something more romantic. As revealed in “Biography: The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne,” Ozzy confessed, “I was still married to my ex-wife at the time, but I fell in love with Sharon.”

Beyond managing Ozzy, Sharon has represented acts such as The Smashing Pumpkins, Motorhead, and The Electric Light Orchestra. However, her career diversified into television following the family’s groundbreaking series. She appeared on The Osbournes, competed on Celebrity Apprentice, served as a judge on The X Factor and America’s Got Talent, and hosted The Talk for 11 years before her dismissal in 2021.

Similar to Ozzy, Sharon has spoken openly about her health struggles, including her victory over colon cancer in 2003, a preventive double mastectomy in 2012, and a health issue that hospitalized her in 2022. Despite life’s highs and lows, their love for each other remained unwavering.

In an interview with TopMob News in 2023, Sharon shared, “We’re two oddballs who found each other. I think we were cut from the same mold. It hasn’t been easy. No relationship is effortless, and you have to work at it. There are ugly times, bad times, and horrific times, but if you love each other, you’ll persevere.”

Aimee, born in September 1983, is the eldest child of Ozzy and Sharon, with two other siblings. Just like her parents, she shares a passion for music, performing and composing songs both individually and with the band ARO. Unlike her family members, Aimee chose not to appear on the reality TV show “The Osbournes” during its run in the 2000s.

In an interview on “The Michael Anthony Show” in 2021, she explained her decision by stating that it felt excessively nepotistic, given her awareness of her father’s media presence growing up. Aimee wanted to protect her family’s privacy and avoid the limelight, especially since she was a teenager at the time and didn’t want to expose the complexity within the family. Additionally, she felt that reality TV wasn’t the right fit for her career aspirations.

However, Aimee has still made appearances in the public eye. She acted in MTV’s adaptation of “Wuthering Heights” in 2003 and provided voiceover work for the 2014 animated film “Postman Pat: The Movie.” She also starred in her own music videos.

Regarding her relationship with her siblings, Kelly has stated that they do not communicate. In an interview on “Armchair Expert With Dax Shepard” in 2024, Kelly explained that they are very different individuals and don’t understand each other.

Kelly, the youngest daughter of Sharon and Ozzy, was born 13 months after her sister. Known for her versatility, she’s an actress, singer, reality star, competition judge, designer, and TV host. She has starred in shows like “Life as We Know It” and “So Undercover” with Miley Cyrus, released two albums, appeared on “The Osbournes” and “Dancing With the Stars”, served on panels for “Project Runway: Junior” and “Australia’s Got Talent”, designed series like “Project Catwalk”, and hosted shows such as “Fashion Police” and “Lego Masters Jr.”.

Throughout her life in the spotlight, Kelly has been candid about the struggles she’s encountered, including her fight against addiction, past relationships, and public criticism of her body. In 2024, she told Us Weekly, “My life has come very far, and I am just so grateful for every mistake that I made in my life, for every lesson learned, for all of it.” She continued, “I have such an incredible life. What could I possibly complain about?”

Her life now includes her son Sidney, born in November 2022, and her fiancé Sid Wilson, who proposed in July 2025. Reflecting on Sidney’s birth, which occurred 18 months after she got sober, Kelly shared with Us Weekly, “I truly believe that my baby saved me and made me a whole human.” She added, “I don’t think I knew what love was before having the baby. I don’t think I truly had a purpose. I just went from thing, to thing, to thing, and this level of self-hate and self-doubt that I used to have would take me out.

Born in November 1985, Jack, the youngest child of Sharon and Ozzy, made his grand entry into the world. After gaining fame from their reality TV show, he ventured into acting, appearing in minor roles on shows like ‘Dawson’s Creek’ and the film ‘New York Minute’ featuring Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen. Jack also found a niche on various reality and competition programs such as ‘Union Jack’, ‘Jack Osbourne: Adrenaline Junkie’, ‘Dancing With the Stars’, and ‘Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test’.

In addition to acting, he has worked behind the camera, producing documentaries like ‘God Bless Ozzy Osbourne’ in 2011 and the series ‘Alpha Dogs’ in 2013. Often, Jack takes on dual roles as both producer and star in shows like ‘Ozzy & Jack’s World Detour’ and his paranormal series ‘Portals to Hell’.

Jack has been open about sharing his personal life with fans, discussing topics such as his mental health battles, his journey towards sobriety in 2003, and his multiple sclerosis diagnosis revealed in 2012. In an interview with ‘Today’ in 2017, he expressed gratitude for his diagnosis, viewing it as a blessing. “I look at the diagnosis as a huge silver lining,” he said. “Before this, I would just be a typical 20-something-year-old, lounging around and wasting days. Now, I’m always doing something productive, whether it’s work, social activities, or staying active.”

He cherishes his family, which includes daughters Pearl, Andy, Minnie with ex-wife Lisa Stelly, and daughter Maple with wife Aree Gearheart.

Ozzy Osbourne’s eldest children from his marriage to Thelma, Jessica and Louis, admitted that they didn’t spend much time with their rocker father due to his frequent absences on tour. In an interview for the 2011 documentary “God Bless Ozzy Osbourne,” Jessica described her childhood as being marked by long periods of adjustment when her father returned home from tours, before things settled down again only for him to leave once more. She further explained that it was a rather unpredictable childhood with their dad.

When Ozzy was at home, he often went to pubs. However, Louis mentioned that his father was a good parent when he wasn’t drunk, but those moments were not very frequent.

Following their divorce, Ozzy and his children remained in contact. In fact, there was an episode of “The Osbournes” where Ozzy received a call informing him that Jessica had given birth and he became a grandfather for the first time. Louis also mentioned that he occasionally sees Aimee, Kelly, and Jack.

Louis explained that due to his travel schedule, he doesn’t spend as much time in the United States as he used to, making it more likely for him to bump into his siblings in a New York hotel than for all of them to gather around a table for Sunday lunch. However, they do meet on special occasions.

Despite their busy schedules, Ozzy and Louis made an effort to keep in touch. According to Louis, his father would call him every Sunday afternoon for a chat and they would take the children out when he visited the UK. He added that his father is a loving grandfather.

Unfortunately, not much information is available about their brother Elliot.
