Jacob Elordi is bringing one of pop culture’s most famous monsters to life—literally.
Initially peering at Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming “Frankenstein” film, the star of “Euphoria” was seen metamorphosed into the title character’s reanimated invention. Swathed in shredded bandages, Elordi hardly resembled the monstrous being pieced together by Dr. Victor Frankenstein, portrayed by Oscar Isaac.
According to Del Toro, the 28-year-old was an ideal choice for the part as Andrew Garfield had to withdraw from the project because of scheduling issues.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, published on July 28th, I shared that my connection with this individual is exceptionally profound, almost supernatural. It’s as if we communicate without uttering many words, and his actions resonate deeply with me, requiring minimal verbal exchange from either of us.
Likewise, makeup artist Mike Hill couldn’t be more thrilled with Elordi taking up the mantle.
In that interview, Hill expressed that he was drawn to him due to his lanky build and flexible wrists. He described it as an unusual looseness, adding, “I thought, ‘I can’t find anyone else with such a unique physicality.’
I can’t help but gush about Elordi! Standing at six-feet-five, he carries an air of innocence that’s undeniably captivating. Yet, beneath that charming exterior, I can’t shake the feeling that if he ever chose to, he could be a force to be reckoned with – the embodiment of a gentle giant turned formidable adversary.
Elordi acknowledges that he’s building upon the work of great actors who’ve played Frankenstein’s monster before him, such as Boris Karloff, Christopher Lee, Robert De Niro, and Benedict Cumberbatch.
Initially, he contemplated avoiding the previous depictions of the monster, preferring to pursue his own path. However, later on, he inquired from Guillermo, “Would it be a good idea for me to watch other adaptations of Frankenstein?” To which Guillermo responded with a surprised question, “What do you mean by that?
Elordi remembered that de Toro had reassured him that his acting wouldn’t be swayed by other performers, as he sought independence in his craft.
Elordi stated, “‘Friend, a film isn’t harmful in any way,’ he said. Afterward, I returned home and watched several of them straight through.
Also starring Mia Goth, Charles Dance and Christoph Waltz, Frankenstein hits Netflix in November.

As a dedicated follower, I didn’t need to alter my physical appearance to embody Judy Garland in the 2019 film “Judy,” for which I received my first Oscar. Instead, the magic of makeup and costuming brought about my transformation.
Renee was deeply connected to the emotional and artistic aspects of the movie “Judy,” as its costume designer, Jany Temime (who has also worked on the Harry Potter films), expressed to Vulture, stating that it was essentially her film, and she seemed to have immersed herself fully into Judy’s character.
In the interview, Zellweger explained that the costumes were tailored to match Judy’s posture, which meant they didn’t quite fit her unless she assumed Judy’s specific stance. Consequently, the zippers on those dresses would not fasten properly.

Unlike past depictions of The Joker on screen, this actor’s appearance as the iconic villain stood out significantly.
John Caglione Jr., a makeup artist, mentioned to IGN, “Suppose this man went to sleep with his makeup on every night, labeling him as a psychopath? If he didn’t touch up his makeup for two or three weeks? He never changes his clothes. It’s these authentic details that truly made a difference.
