Even though season 2 of Landman has finished airing, people are already talking about what’s next for the show, which has been renewed for a third season. Created by Taylor Sheridan, Landman quickly became a hit on Paramount+, debuting in November 2024 and becoming one of the platform’s most popular series. Season 2, released last November, broke viewing records. The show’s world and characters have resonated with audiences, and fans are particularly interested in the future of Cooper Norris and his role in the story.
In a recent interview with MovieWeb, Jacob Lofland, who plays Cooper, discussed what’s next for his character and his relationships. He focused on his character’s connection with Ariana (Paulina Chávez) and how it’s grown over the past two seasons. After the recent engagement reveal, Lofland was asked if a wedding episode might be in store for the third season, but he didn’t offer any hints, remaining purposefully vague.
That’s a good question, but honestly, I have no idea. I’m really not sure what’s going to happen – your guess is as good as mine. We’re hoping things will move forward soon, and I think they probably will. Someone asked me the same thing earlier, and it sounds like whatever happens will be quite elaborate.
Lofland mentioned he hadn’t yet seen any scripts or details for the upcoming third season, which isn’t surprising considering his vague response to questions about it. Throughout the series, it’s been compelling to watch Cooper develop, particularly as he starts to gain a reputation similar to his father, Tommy (Billy Bob Thornton).
Cooper Norris Has a Potentially Exciting Character Arc in ‘Landman’ Season 3

One of the most interesting storylines in Landman has become the connection between Cooper and Tommy, especially considering how different Cooper initially was from Billy Bob Thornton’s Tommy. Seeing Cooper develop and, in some ways, become like a newer version of his father is a key part of the show, and will likely continue as the story unfolds in season 3. His relationship with Ariana adds another layer to his growth, promising some compelling drama in future episodes.

It’s still uncertain if the show will feature a wedding, but Ariana experienced a very difficult scene in the second-to-last episode of Landman season 2, as both she and Lofland described. If a wedding does happen, it will probably add to the existing tension in Cooper’s relationship with his father. Finally, fans are waiting to see if season 3 will be released around the same time as the previous seasons, which is likely considering the show’s and its characters’ popularity.
