Jaime King has given her heart to someone new.
Two years after her divorce from Kyle Newman was completed, Hart of Dixie star Rachel Bilson announced she is engaged to investment banker Austin Sosa. She shared the news during an appearance on the Juicy Scoop podcast on September 30th.
After announcing that they were engaged, Jaime shared, “We first connected through friends we both knew.” She added with a smile, “It is exciting!”
TopMob News previously reached out to reps for King and Sosa, but has not heard back.
This engagement is welcome news for King, especially after a difficult year with legal issues. Earlier in March, her former spouse – from whom she began divorce proceedings in 2020 following 13 years of marriage – was granted full custody of their sons, James, age 11, and Leo, age 9, after a lengthy custody dispute.
In the midst of their disagreement, Newman reportedly called the White Chicks actress a “long-term drug and alcohol user who won’t admit she has an issue, nor get real help for it,” as stated in legal papers obtained by TopMob News at the time.
Newman submitted a response to a request for a domestic violence prevention order filed by King, which TopMob News also obtained. The petition claims King allegedly organized an intervention even though Newman stated she didn’t have problems with addiction.
Just a week after the new custody arrangement was finalized-an arrangement that also mandated six months of rehab, regular drug tests, continued aftercare, participation in a twelve-step program, and a 26-week parenting course-the 46-year-old King addressed another legal issue. Her landlord had filed a lawsuit claiming she owed around $42,580 in unpaid rent.
King told Us Weekly in March that the issue with their landlord was handled privately. They expressed disappointment-but not shock-that someone would try to use the situation to gain attention, stating, “I am currently focused on what matters most: my children.”
Besides spending time with her children, the actress is also prioritizing her relationship with Sosa. Last June, she posted a series of photos featuring James and Leo, and publicly acknowledged her now-fiancé in the caption of their shared post.
