In the whirlwind of updates about the upcoming James Bond movie led by Amazon, I can’t help but share my thoughts after hearing Stephen Knight, the mastermind behind Peaky Blinders, voice his opinions on the series’ trajectory.
It has been revealed that Steven Knight, the creative force behind the popular Shelby family drama series, will team up with Denis Villeneuve to pen the screenplay for an upcoming movie project.
After the declaration, he expressed his enthusiasm for the venture during an interview on BBC Radio 5 Live, likening it to something that has long been a desire of his.
He expressed his excitement about the invitation, saying he’s eager to begin. He also mentioned that as a long-time Bond fan, he hopes to infuse his work with the same spirit while making it unique, improved, and more impactful.
Known primarily for his television roles, Knight also boasts a respectable background in cinema, having penned screenplays for films such as Locke, Burnt, Allied, The Girl in the Spider’s Web, Serenity, Locked Down, Spencer, and Maria.
Although Knights focus might be mainly on Bond, he also has numerous other tasks at hand, including the forthcoming Peaky Blinders film and the House of Guinness series on Netflix.
Knight is the latest big name to join production since Amazon’s takeover of the franchise.
However, Villeneuve and Knight’s involvement has been made clear, yet the key figures, the prospective actors vying for the role of 007, remain unannounced.
When queried about who will be the next Bond character, Knight tactfully ducked the question, saying, “That indeed is an exceptional inquiry, yet one I’m unable to respond to at this time.
There’s a lot of buzz about who might play James Bond next, with Harris Dickinson, Tom Holland, and Jacob Elordi being mentioned as strong possibilities according to recent reports.
In addition to them, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Austin Butler have gained popularity as they’ve delivered impressive performances in films like “28 Years Later” and “Dune: Part Two,” among other notable roles.
