Steven Knight, known for creating popular shows like Peaky Blinders and House of Guinness, is now working on what might be his most significant project to date: the next installment in the James Bond series.
Taylor Knight is writing the script for the upcoming film directed by Denis Villeneuve. He’s been keeping details under wraps, so during our exclusive video interview with him for our series, The TopMob Writers’ Room – where we explore the minds of screenwriters – we decided to ask him what we could expect.
Predictably, he didn’t want to share any details, simply stating he “couldn’t say anything about it,” but that he was “having a fantastic time.”
When asked if he had a favorite James Bond movie, Knight explained he didn’t want to answer, as it might hint at the direction he’s taking with the new film.

He also pointed out that James Bond has become a legendary figure, almost like Robin Hood or King Arthur. Because of Bond’s cultural impact, both in the UK and internationally, it’s important to approach the character with respect.
Knight recently revealed he’s writing the script for the next James Bond film without knowing who will play the lead role, as the actor hasn’t been chosen yet. This has led to intense speculation about who will be cast as Bond.
During a recent interview with The TopMob Writers’ Room, Knight discussed the upcoming second season of A Thousand Blows, launching this month. He also shared updates on Peaky Blinders, confirming plans for a new movie and two additional seasons of the show.

Before becoming a writer, he was in PR – first working with businesses, and then at Fremantle, a major TV production company. He’s got a solid background too, with a degree in English and Theatre Studies, plus a journalism diploma.
