James Gunn reveals DC Studios’ next three projects entering production

As a movie enthusiast, I’m excited to hint at what seems like our imminent projects. While I can’t spill all the beans just yet, it appears that the sequel to the iconic Superman film might be in our near future. However, before that, fingers crossed, we’ll have the privilege of bringing you The Batman Part II. Lastly, there’s a secret TV series on the horizon, but shhh, it’s still hush-hush!

Gunn’s statement that “nothing is known” about the next DC production suggests that the upcoming show has not been made public yet. This means shows like Booster Gold, Waller, Paradise Lost, the animated Blue Beetle and Mister Miracle series are not currently in contention. However, there have been whispers that DC might be working on Superman spin-offs for television, but until Gunn confirms the project, we can’t be certain about the exact nature of the upcoming show.

You’re Giving It Too Much Thought: Besides dropping by another podcast this week, Gunn also joined Deadline’s Crew Call with Anthony D’Alessandro. There, he hinted at the potential involvement of the Justice League in the upcoming Superman sequel.

In simpler terms, Gunn stated that the character in question belongs to a set of characters we’re familiar with, and Superman plays a significant role within this group. Furthermore, he implied that the storyline or plot for this character (the treatment) has been developed, much like a movie script.

Superman is currently playing in theaters and is also available on digital.
