I, as a die-hard movie enthusiast, am thrilled about the ongoing action in the DC Universe. Right now, Superman is gracing our cinema screens, while Peacemaker is gearing up for Season 2 on HBO Max in August. The anticipation among fans for these releases is palpable! With more projects from the franchise coming up, we’re all hoping for some exciting character crossovers – they’re what make shared universes so engaging. Although we knew that Peacemaker Season 2 would include characters from Superman’s Justice League, there might be even more surprises in store. At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, showrunner and DC Studios co-head James Gunn gave us a sneak peek of what to expect when Peacemaker returns later this summer.
Following a light-hearted comment suggesting Nathan Fillion wear Guy Gardner’s unsightly hairstyle, Gunn subtly suggested that “perhaps there are a few more individuals roaming these corridors who also appear in Superman and will reappear in Peacemaker Season 2.” Although he didn’t disclose the identities of these characters, it leaves fans eagerly anticipating the Season 2 premiere with this tantalizing hint.
Whenever I get the chance to make Nathan don that silly hairdo… There might be a few more individuals roaming these corridors who are not only part of Superman but also featured in Season 2 of Peacemaker.

It’s been confirmed that Season 2 of “Peacemaker” will feature characters from “Superman”, as seen in the trailer revealed earlier this year. In a comical scene from the teaser, Peacemaker undergoes an interview with Hawkgirl, Guy Gardner, and Maxwell Lord as he strives to join the Justice League. However, it’s sad to note that Mister Terrific, a popular member of the Justice League, won’t be making a comeback in “Peacemaker”. Actor Edi Gathegi has disclosed that while he has a multi-project contract with DC Studios, he hasn’t been asked to reprise his role as Mister Terrific yet.
In a new twist, Season 2 of “Peacemaker” is set in the updated DC Universe rather than the old one. To clarify any confusion about which elements from Season 1 are part of the DCU continuity (like the mentions of Aquaman in the first episode), a companion podcast for the show has been launched by creator Gunn. As suggested in the latest trailer for “Peacemaker” Season 2, the character Chris Smith from the DCEU travels to the new DCU and aims to replace his counterpart there, hoping to improve his life.
Another character from the Superman universe that we can expect in Season 2 of Peacemaker is Rick Flag Sr., portrayed by Frank Grillo. It has been confirmed through promotional materials that he is pursuing Peacemaker, seeking vengeance for his deceased son (Peacemaker was responsible for the death of Rick Flag Jr. in The Suicide Squad). As for potential additional characters who might appear, it’s possible that staff members from the Daily Planet could be involved. Given that the Justice Gang’s headquarters are located in Metropolis, it seems plausible that figures like Jimmy Olsen, Steve Lombard, or Cat Grant could be present to report on any interdimensional chaos that Peacemaker may cause within the DCU.
Fans can only guess if Superman, Lois Lane, or Lex Luthor might appear in Peacemaker‘s second season before its full release, given that the show’s creator James Gunn described it as a direct sequel to Superman. Since the storyline could involve a Peacemaker from another dimension causing trouble in Metropolis, it would make sense for Superman to intervene and help resolve the situation. Previously, John Cena made an appearance in Superman, so it’s possible that David Corenswet reciprocated by filming a cameo for Peacemaker. Regardless of who makes an appearance, Season 2 is bound to be an exciting journey.
