Jamie Chung Reveals Why She & Bryan Greenberg Love Thanksgiving

Jamie Chung knows how to make the holidays count.

That’s why the actress from Big Hero 6 and her husband, Bryan Greenberg, really celebrate the start of the season at Thanksgiving.

Jamie shared with TopMob News that Koreans place a high value on food and enjoy connecting with loved ones over meals. Because of this, Thanksgiving has always been a special occasion for both her and her husband Brian’s families.

Despite the challenges, she and her ex-partner from One Tree Hill – who are parents to 4-year-old twin boys – have been successfully taking turns hosting the kids each weekend for years.

This year, the 42-year-old said they’re planning a low-key trip back to the Midwest to visit Brian’s family.

Jamie and Bryan, both 47, are looking forward to even more special plans after the holidays, and they’re excited to revive a beloved tradition from Jamie’s childhood.

She said they’re planning to start a new Christmas tradition this year: teaching the kids to ski. Growing up, her family didn’t focus on presents. Instead, her parents saved money for annual ski trips, and they often stayed at the Circus Circus hotel in Reno.

It wasn’t anything over the top,” she said. “You can definitely make it happen, though. It’s a really special memory for us, and we want our kids to experience that too—it’s just so much fun being in the mountains and playing in the snow.

Jamie is embracing each new phase of being a mom to her sons. She also understands that taking care of herself is an important part of being a good parent.

As a parent, I’ve found it’s incredibly easy to lose sight of who you are while pouring everything into raising your kids and giving them a rich, creative childhood. But I’ve also learned something crucial: the most important thing you can do is work on yourself first. If you want to raise patient, resilient kids who can communicate well and solve problems effectively, you need to model those qualities yourself. It’s about growing alongside them, not just guiding them.

She explained that if you lack something, you need to take personal responsibility and build those core principles yourself. Ultimately, she realized that self-improvement requires consistent effort and hard work on your own behalf.

Jamie, whose babies were born prematurely, emphasized how crucial her support network was for her own health and happiness during a very difficult time for her family.

We didn’t have any family visit then,” the former Real World contestant explained. “Our friends were a huge help, though. We have a friend who’s a NICU nurse in Los Angeles, and she was always there to answer our questions and offer guidance.

She appreciated the NICU nurses showing her and Bryan how to diaper their incredibly small babies. Seeing just how challenging it was to put diapers on their sons, given their size, was a real learning experience.

Jamie jumped at the chance to partner with Carter’s Charitable Foundation and the March of Dimes. She wanted to help raise awareness of premature birth and offer support to families going through the challenges of having a baby in the NICU.

She described it as truly amazing. Becoming a parent makes you appreciate good design, and for two decades, Carter’s has worked with NICU nurses and families to create special kimonos and caps. These designs aren’t just cute – they’re also practical, making it easier for nurses to care for and keep babies safe around the clock.
