Jamie Lynn Spears Marks “Miracle” Anniversary of Daughter’s ATV Crash

Jamie Lynn Spears is looking back at a harrowing day.

It’s hard to believe it’s been nine years since Maddie’s accident. As a longtime fan of Jamie Lynn Spears, I remember being so worried when I first heard about the ATV accident back in 2017. She shared that Maddie was seriously injured and spent two days in a coma, and it was a really scary time. It’s amazing to see how far Maddie has come, and I’m so grateful she’s doing well.

Jamie Lynn shared a heartfelt message on Instagram on February 5th, posting a series of photos of her sister, Maddie, when she was eight years old and hospitalized. The pictures showed Maddie unconscious with their parents, including Casey Aldridge, at her side, and then awake after recovering from a coma. Jamie Lynn expressed immense gratitude for Maddie’s recovery, acknowledging that not everyone is so fortunate in similar situations.

Jamie Lynn also wrote a thank-you message to those who helped her daughter and expressed hope for a full recovery.

She expressed immense gratitude to all the first responders, doctors, her friends, family, and everyone who offered prayers for her. Most importantly, she thanked God. She encouraged everyone to cherish their loved ones today, reminding them that, ultimately, connection and love are what truly count.

Jamie’s daughter, 7-year-old Ivey, made a drawing and wrote a sweet note to her older sister, telling her how grateful she is that she’s alive. Ivey shares a close bond with her sister and her father, Jamie Watson.

After a frightening ATV accident when she was younger, the teenager has started riding again, recently receiving a new vehicle as a gift from Jamie Lynn.

In a YouTube video posted in August, Maddie shared that she was in an accident and spent time in a coma, but thankfully recovered. She expressed gratitude to be alive.

Jamie Lynn felt grateful that Maddie was brave enough to share what happened with everyone.

In an August Instagram post alongside a video of her daughter Maddie, the Sweet Magnolias star shared a message about resilience. She wrote that while we can’t control everything life throws our way, we can choose how we respond. She expressed immense pride in Maddie for her unwavering determination, hoping her story will encourage others to pursue their goals with passion and never give up.

Jamie Lynn shared a Christmas Day photo on Instagram showing Maddie riding a bike decorated with a large red bow and a sign with her name. Her younger sister was riding on the back.

Each year, Maddie’s mother acknowledges this special date. Maddie has spoken before about the accident – being underwater for several minutes after it happened – and what it’s like to survive such a traumatic experience.

In a YouTube video posted in August, Maddie shared that she was in an accident and spent time in a coma, but thankfully recovered. She expressed gratitude for being alive.

For Jamie Lynn, her blessing came in the form of Maddie being confident enough to share her story with the world.

Okay, seriously, JoJo Mason just gets it, you guys! She posted this amazing message on Instagram about Maddie’s video, and it totally spoke to me. She was saying how you can’t always control what life throws at you, but you always get to choose how you handle it. And she’s so incredibly proud of Maddie – how she just refuses to let anything hold her back! JoJo said she hopes sharing Maddie’s story will inspire everyone else to go after their dreams with everything they’ve got, and honestly? It already has. I’m obsessed with both of them!

Brie Bella, known from Total Bellas, shared that one of her breast implants moved after being hit during the elbow of fellow wrestler Piper Niven in a match back in July 2025.

I remember telling my sister, Bella, that everything would be alright. I was dealing with a recent divorce, and I promised my doctor that as soon as my dancing days were over – as soon as I hung up my boots, so to speak – I’d come back and we’d get everything sorted out. I wanted to make sure things looked fantastic because I knew I’d be back to performing, and I couldn’t let anything hold me back. Basically, I needed a plan to get everything looking its best for when I returned to the stage!

Lupita Nyong’o, known for her role in 12 Years a Slave, received a diagnosis of uterine fibroids—non-cancerous growths in or around the uterus—in 2014, the same year she won an Academy Award for her performance in the film.

She didn’t share her diagnosis until 2025, when she revealed on Instagram that she had been privately struggling with it for over ten years.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve noticed a really damaging pattern: we’re often taught from a young age that periods should be painful, and that suffering is just something women have to deal with. It’s incredibly isolating, because so many of us end up feeling like we’re struggling with this all on our own, when it’s actually something that affects most of us!

In July 2025, the actress from Daisy Jones & The Six revealed she was hospitalized for a hernia. This happened because she had been wearing pants that were too tight, which caused a gap in her abdominal muscles.

Someone messaged Suki on X (formerly Twitter) asking why she hadn’t been tweeting lately. Suki jokingly replied, suggesting she’d been hiding a serious injury – a hernia caused by wearing extremely tight pants six months ago – and was afraid to mention it.

The former star of Beverly Hills, 90210 shared in April 2025 that he was recovering from surgery for a nearly ruptured appendix.

Brian shared in an Instagram video that he recently experienced stomach pain which led him to the emergency room. He explained he had a perforated appendix – meaning it hadn’t quite burst, but was very close to doing so.

He added, “I’m on the road to recovery. It’s not an easy process. This is my first major surgery.”

During a soccer game against the Seattle Reign on September 14th at Lumen Field in Seattle, a midfielder from Racing Louisville collapsed after only a few minutes of play.

According to Reuters, the U.S. Women’s National Team player sat down on the field with a teammate supporting her, and then quickly collapsed. Trainers were immediately called to assess her condition.

Savannah was given immediate medical attention on the field and then taken to a nearby hospital for more tests, according to a statement from the National Women’s Soccer League. They reported that she is currently in stable condition and is alert.

Adam Devine revealed that injuries from a cement truck accident he experienced at age 11 still cause him problems today.

Oh my god, you guys, it’s just… heartbreaking. I was listening to Devine on Graham Bensinger’s podcast recently, and he said it’s been a total nightmare. He’s been having these awful spasms all over his body, and honestly? The doctors actually told him he was dying – like, seriously, within the last year! It’s just… I can’t even imagine. It’s so scary to hear him talk about it, but I’m so glad he’s sharing his story.

He explained that his pain is intermittent, and described having some physical imperfections, saying, “My body isn’t quite working as it should in a few areas.”

A former contestant on The Bachelor went to the hospital because of severe back pain. He said he was in so much pain he had to crawl to get help, and the pain got worse during a road trip with a friend.

I was sharing on my podcast recently how bizarre my recovery has been. Even now, I still get tingling sensations down to my toes! It’s wild because just a few weeks ago, I was comfortably squatting almost 300 pounds. Now? I can barely stand on one foot, let alone do a squat. Honestly, it feels like I had a stroke – it’s that disorienting and limiting.

But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

Gina Kirschenheiter, from The Real Housewives of Orange County, revealed that her ex-husband, Matt Kirschenheiter, had a heart attack in March 2025, but he is now doing okay.

I was so concerned to hear about Alec Baldwin! Back in March of 2025, he had a bit of a health scare while attending a New York Knicks game at Madison Square Garden. It was quite a scene, and he actually needed to be wheeled out of the arena. Thankfully, reports suggest he’s doing much better now, but it was definitely a worrying moment for everyone.

I was so worried when I heard he was unwell, but thankfully, he posted an update saying it was just food poisoning and he’s already feeling better! It’s such a relief to know he’s on the road to recovery.

In February 2025, the former Even Stevens star revealed she was shot in the face during a birthday celebration for her husband, Brendan Rooney. They were on a trip to go clay pigeon shooting when the incident occurred.

In an Instagram post, she explained that she was accidentally shot in the face by someone at a party who fired a gun unsafely. Thankfully, @thebrendanrooney quickly helped her, checked her injuries, and drove her to the hospital. She was hit five times, and one bullet narrowly missed her right eye by less than an inch.

The Kim Possible actor explained that a small piece of something got stuck behind their eye. Doctors have advised against removing it with surgery right now, but they’re keeping a close watch on the situation. Thankfully, their vision is currently normal.

The actress expressed immense gratitude for surviving. She shared her deep love for her daughters, husband, family, and friends, saying she realized how precious life is. “I saw my life flash before my eyes,” she explained, urging everyone to cherish their loved ones and hug them often, because life can change unexpectedly.

I’m such a fan of Amy Schumer, and I was so impressed by how she handled this whole situation! It’s amazing how the internet, which can be so negative, actually helped her figure out what was going on with her health. She was doing press and noticed people commenting on her face looking ‘puffy,’ and honestly, she just asked everyone to chill. But then, doctors started commenting, seriously concerned that something was wrong! Can you believe she was getting ‘trolled’ by doctors?! They thought she might have Cushing syndrome, possibly from high cortisol or steroid injections. That’s when it clicked for her – she’d had a breast reduction and a C-section, and received steroid injections as part of the process. Apparently, that’s what caused her Cushing syndrome, and she never would have known without the internet pointing it out. Now, she’s just so grateful she’s okay. She shared that finding out it was a type of Cushing that would resolve on its own was the best news ever, and honestly, I was so relieved to hear it too!

During a game in December 2024, an American Hockey League player was accidentally cut in the face by another player’s skate and needed 25 stitches to close the wound. After his son made a full recovery, New Jersey Devils General Manager Tom Fitzgerald shared with ESPN how relieved he was, saying, “We feel very lucky. No parent should ever have to go through that.”

In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a frightening health scare while having breakfast with her husband, Justin Bieber. She suddenly developed stroke-like symptoms, initially unable to respond when Justin asked if she was okay. She then found she couldn’t speak and the right side of her face began to droop.

Although the symptoms eventually subsided, Hailey went to the hospital where tests revealed she had experienced a small blood clot in her brain, diagnosed as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack).

Further testing at UCLA discovered a hole in her heart, called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). Doctors determined the blood clot had traveled to her brain through this hole, causing the TIA.

Hailey underwent a successful procedure to close the PFO and is now recovering well.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition that caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the remaining dates of his Justice World Tour.

In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained that the virus affected the nerves in his ear and face, preventing him from blinking, smiling, or moving his nostril on the affected side. He also shared that it had become increasingly difficult to eat.

Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away. Hailey shared on Good Morning America that Justin was recovering well, calling the situation scary but assuring everyone he would be completely fine and was grateful he was on the mend.

Jamie Foxx recently shared details about the health scare he experienced in April 2023, which he had previously kept private. In his 2024 Netflix special, What Had Happened Was…, Foxx explained that he was suffering from a severe headache when he suddenly lost consciousness. He doesn’t remember the next twenty days.

Initially, a doctor gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister, Deidra Dixon, was worried and took him to the hospital. There, doctors discovered he had a brain bleed that caused a stroke.

After surgery, twenty days later on May 4th, Foxx woke up in a wheelchair unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy. He expressed deep gratitude for the prayers he received, saying, “I needed every prayer.”

The reality TV star said she temporarily stopped breathing while running a mile during the first challenge on the NBC competition show.

You know, I’ve spoken to a lot of people about near-death experiences, and this one really stuck with me. She shared with me on the show Fit for TV that she doesn’t recall much of what happened, just fragments. She heard a helicopter, and then a feeling of floating, almost like being detached from everything. She vividly remembered seeing her grandfather, and then… darkness. But then, surprisingly, she saw light. And in that moment, she knew. She said she knew she had died that day. It’s a profoundly moving story, and really highlights how our minds work under extreme stress.

She explained that her organs were failing. She hadn’t known she had rhabdomyolysis, a condition where the body essentially starts to shut down.

As someone who’s always focused on wellness, I’ve always been fascinated by stories of resilience, and Emilia Clarke’s is truly remarkable. Many of you probably know her as Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones, but what most people didn’t know is what she was battling off screen. Back in 2019, she bravely shared her story in The New Yorker, detailing a terrifying health crisis. It all started with a severe headache while at the gym. She described collapsing and being violently ill, realizing something was seriously wrong – she knew her brain was damaged. Turns out, she’d suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage, a life-threatening stroke caused by a ruptured aneurysm. She needed immediate surgery, and the pain was, in her words, unbearable. Recovery wasn’t easy; she even experienced a period of aphasia, struggling to speak coherently. Thankfully, that passed, and she was able to leave the hospital after a month. But the ordeal wasn’t over. A scan in 2013 revealed the aneurysm had grown, requiring another surgery. This one was incredibly risky, and she woke up screaming in pain after it failed initially, leading to a massive bleed. They had to perform a more invasive surgery, accessing her brain directly through her skull. It’s a harrowing story, but the amazing part is that, against all odds, Emilia is now fully recovered and at 100%. It’s a powerful reminder to prioritize your health and appreciate every moment.

Cori Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s daughter, is thankful for the support of her family. In January 2024, she suffered a stroke and her loved ones immediately came to her side. She told TopMob News that she texted her family about the stroke and sent a picture, and they all rushed to help. Cori ended up staying in the hospital longer than expected due to other health issues. She explained that while she could have gone home after the stroke, her lupus and failing kidneys required further care. Today, Cori is recovering well. She says she’s doing great and is regaining her motor skills, and is otherwise feeling fine.

Shailene Woodley struggled with serious health issues throughout her early twenties. In a September 2024 podcast interview, the actress explained that she experienced hearing loss, extreme fatigue, and digestive problems. She saw many doctors but received conflicting diagnoses.

Drawing on her background in herbalism and holistic health, Shailene sought answers from both traditional doctors and alternative healers, hoping to find relief and understand what was happening to her body.

The search for a solution took ten years, and the physical discomfort led to emotional challenges. She developed a fear of food and struggled with body image issues and questions about her identity.

Ultimately, Shailene’s health improved, and her physical symptoms resolved. She is now healthy and grateful to be feeling well.
