The beauty world is mourning the loss of one of their own.
It’s with a heavy heart that I share the news of Jasen Kaplan’s passing. As a celebrity makeup artist, he truly had an incredible talent and worked with so many amazing women, including Eva Longoria, Bethenny Frankel, and Kelly Osbourne. He was only 46, and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him and admired his work. It’s a sad day for the beauty world.
Following the news of his passing, many of Kaplan’s loyal clients shared cherished memories of their time with him. Bethenny, who collaborated with Kaplan on several projects last summer, remembered him as more than just a makeup artist – he was a friend and a valued member of her team.
She shared on Instagram that Jasen Kaplan was a remarkably positive and energetic person – his good vibes were contagious. He was lively, enthusiastic, and always gave his best. She expressed disbelief at his passing on New Year’s Eve, calling him a unique and special person who was charismatic, kind, and always eager to share interesting things he’d discovered, whether it was food, products, or talented people.
The former Real Housewives of New York City star went on to say, “You’ll always be second best, both now and forever. I’ll even have better hair and makeup in the afterlife. Goodbye, and enjoy your caviar and coconut cake.”
Jasen first became known in 2005 while working with Brittny and Lisa Gastineau on their reality show, Gastineau Girls. He returned to reality television more than ten years later with a short appearance as a contestant on Logo’s Finding Prince Charming in 2016.
In addition to sharing details about his own life, he frequently highlighted his projects with clients such as Tinsley Mortimer, Tori Spelling, and Kelly on his social media platforms.
Staying true to their long-standing friendship, the former star of The Osbournes shared Bethenny’s sadness on her Instagram Stories. She posted a collection of her happiest memories with Kaplan over the years.
My heart absolutely breaks sharing this news. A dear friend of mine has passed, and I’m just completely devastated. They brought so much love, laughter, and genuine joy into my life, and I’m eternally grateful for every moment. I truly hope they’ve found peace. Things will never be quite the same, and I’ll cherish the memories forever. Rest in peace, my sweet friend.
She fondly described their friendship, saying, “You were the perfect friend, and I cherish every moment of our 25 years together.”
