Jason Kelce isn’t throwing a flag on this label.
The sports commentator had a great reaction after CBC jokingly referred to him as “Kylie Kelce’s husband” on X (formerly Twitter) while covering the Team USA women’s hockey game against Sweden on February 16th at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Jason said on the February 24th episode of his podcast, New Heights (co-hosted with his brother Travis Kelce), that Kylie attended the Olympics representing NBC and YouTube. Jason himself was there simply to have fun and experience the Games.
He insisted that was exactly the right way to put it, and said he found it very funny.
As a lifestyle expert, I always appreciate a good sense of humor! I heard from a former Philadelphia Eagles center who had a funny take for a Canadian Broadcast Channel. He jokingly suggested they use ‘ball and chain’ instead of whatever they were considering – a playful way to make a point, don’t you think?
He was fully supporting his wife and their four daughters – 6-year-old Wyatt, 4-year-old Elliotte, 3-year-old Bennett, and 10-month-old Finnley – in any way possible, even participating in her superstitions.
“She’s gonna do everything she can,” Jason, 38, added. “She’s making me participate.”
During Team USA’s 2-1 overtime victory against Canada on February 19th, Kylie, 33, was getting comfortable in her seat. She later shared in an Instagram video that she had turned and sat cross-legged to watch the game.
Oh my gosh, it’s so obvious Travis gets it. He totally understands what it’s like to date someone who’s constantly in the public eye. I mean, let’s be real, he became way more famous once everyone found out he was with Taylor! It’s like, she shines so brightly, and now everyone is noticing him too. It’s just… perfect!
So, Travis was playfully teasing me on our podcast about how, at first, I was basically his date! He called me the ‘plus one,’ which, honestly, is kind of sweet when you think about it. He even said being the plus one can be the best feeling, and I totally get what he means. It’s a fun story and a reminder of how it all started for us.
For Kylie’s part, she called a foul on the X post.
I was chatting with Jason about this over breakfast, and honestly, it’s just gotten out of hand. We’ve swung way too far the other way! You know what is great though? Jason and Kylie Kelce – they’re a really cool couple. That’s what we should be focusing on!

Jason watched the Winter Games with his wife, Kylie, who was also talking with the athletes—including the gold-medal-winning women’s hockey team.
After Hilary Knight scored the final goal, Laila Edwards, who grew up in the same hometown of Cleveland Heights and provided the assist, described the exciting play.
During a recent appearance on the Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce podcast, Olympic gold medalist Laila—the first Black woman to achieve that honor in hockey—remembered a critical moment in a game. She explained that knowing it was a crucial time, she trusted Hilary Knight, whom she considers the greatest of all time. Laila aimed to get the puck to Knight, positioned near the net, and was confident she’d score – which she did, making it an amazing play.
