Jason Momoa Shares Emotional Plea After Escaping Raging Floods

Like so many others in Hawaii, I was really saddened to hear that Jason Momoa had to evacuate his home due to the recent massive flooding. It seems like the islands just keep getting hit with disaster after disaster – I remember how awful the Lahaina wildfires were last year. It’s just heartbreaking to think about people being forced to leave their homes and everything being destroyed. Jason actually posted on Instagram about it, saying how upset he is for the local community and asking for any help people can give. It’s good to see him using his platform to raise awareness.

Jason Momoa recently shared an update on social media, saying he and his family were safe after the recent events, but many others were still in danger and he was sending them support. He described the conditions on Oahu’s North Shore as extremely difficult. Despite being in a risky situation himself, Momoa is using his platform to highlight the struggles of those less visible. While he was able to reach safety, many others needed rescue or were forced to leave their homes. Thankfully, relief efforts are underway, and Hawaii Governor Josh Green reported that, so far, there have been no deaths.

Jason Momoa shared on Instagram how the recent storms, flooding, and constant rain on Oahu have deeply impacted many people, particularly those who were already struggling. He was especially heartbroken to see families forced from their homes, communities facing difficulties, and those experiencing homelessness being hit the hardest. Born in Honolulu, Momoa explained that the past few weeks have been emotionally difficult for him, as he feels a strong connection to the island he calls home.

Jason Momoa doesn’t just share messages of support online; he actively leads fundraising for disaster relief, as he did after the 2023 Lahaina wildfires. He expressed his devastation for those affected in Maui, sharing a link to Āina Momona, the nonprofit he founded to provide aid. Momoa is consistently compassionate and outspoken about the causes he cares about, and his dedication to his roots is truly touching.
