Javier Bardem’s kids are not spellbound by their dad’s work.
The Academy Award-winning actor shared that his children, Leo, 15, and Luna, 12, whom he shares with Penelope Cruz, haven’t been very interested in watching his movies.
Javier recently told TopMob News’ Will Marfuggi that his children haven’t watched any of his films, but they’ve seen all of the movies made by his wife. He shared this during an interview with his Cape Fear co-stars, Amy Adams and Patrick Wilson.
Despite everything, the 57-year-old actor made his children watch his 2007 film, No Country for Old Men, where he played the chilling character of Anton Chigurh. He had a particular reason for wanting them to see it.
He jokingly explained that when guests ignore his requests to put away their phones or computers, he’ll playfully ‘strap them into a chair’ and put on the movie No Country for Old Men. He says that usually does the trick – they quickly put their phones down.
Patrick and Amy’s kids are all at different places when it comes to how interested they are in their parents’ work as actors.
Patrick mentioned his two sons, Kalin, who is turning 20, and Kassian, who is almost 17. He shares them with his wife, Dagmara Dominczyk, and expressed his wish that they would ask to bring his and Dagmara’s presence along with them – essentially wanting them involved in their lives.
The 52-year-old added, “But I think just looking at my work, like, ‘That’s good. Good job, Dad.’”
You know, as a mom myself, I totally get this! It’s so rewarding when your kids start to get what you do. My friend Amy’s daughter, Aviana – she shares her with her husband, Darren Le Gallo – has just recently started to really appreciate her mom’s films, and Amy is over the moon!

“She really enjoys watching those movies,” Amy told TopMob. “She’s a big fan of Arrival. I’m just hesitant about her watching Nocturnal because it has some violent scenes that I don’t like.”
I used to be overprotective and wouldn’t even let her watch certain things. Now, I’ve changed my approach and encourage her to enjoy herself.
The first two episodes of Cape Fear will be available on Apple TV starting June 5th, and new episodes will be released every Friday until July 31st.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve seen a lot of performers share their stories, but Hannah Berner’s latest special really stood out to me. She gets incredibly honest, opening up about where she sees her life heading, her unique career journey, and even her dating life. She’s hilariously self-aware, and admits she’s not always feeling her best – she playfully calls herself ‘part-time hot,’ which I think a lot of us can relate to! It’s a really vulnerable and funny show.
