The government is debunking claims about Jeffrey Epstein’s history.
On July 7, a statement issued jointly by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation clarified various speculations about the deceased financier’s purported network and the details surrounding his demise. The report confirmed that Epstein took his own life and debunked theories suggesting he was murdered.
The two organizations openly disclosed that they thoroughly inspected various storage systems like databases, hard drives, network drives, as well as physically examined squad spaces, locked cupboards, desks, closets, and other potential locations where relevant information about Epstein might be kept. This comprehensive search yielded over 300 gigabytes of data and tangible evidence.
In the course of my thorough examination, I can confirm that I found no damning ‘client roster.’ Furthermore, there was no substantiated proof discovered suggesting that Mr. Epstein extorted notable figures as part of his activities. During our investigation, we failed to unearth any evidence warranting an inquiry into uncharged third parties.
The memo additionally confirmed that FBI investigators agreed with the conclusion that Epstein took his own life in his New York City jail cell back in August 2019. This determination was supported by a thorough review of video recordings from the SHU (Special Housing Unit) at the Metropolitan Correctional Center, where Epstein was residing at the time of his demise.
According to a memo penned in 2023 by the DOJ’s Inspector General, anyone moving from the SHU common area towards Epstein’s cell location would have been caught on camera. The FBI’s examination of this footage showed that from the moment Epstein was placed in his cell at approximately 10:40 pm on August 9, 2019, until about 6:30 am the following morning, no one accessed any tier within the SHU.
In addition to their findings, the DOJ and FBI indicated that the materials held “confidential details” about Epstein’s alleged victims (numbering over 1,000 as stated in the memo), which encompassed information like names, appearances, birthplaces, connections, and work backgrounds.
In summary, the letter stated that they have made every effort to share comprehensive details about the case of Epstein, and have thoroughly examined any evidence held by the government. However, based on their assessment by the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, no additional disclosure is deemed necessary or suitable.
The memorandum seems to disprove persistent theories held by conspiracy theorists suggesting that the government was hiding details about Epstein’s death and his supposed client list, which they claimed he used for extortion against high-profile individuals accused of aiding him in criminal activities.
Despite Attorney General Pam Bondi’s recent statement suggesting additional information about Epstein would be disclosed, both the involved governmental entities affirmed they wouldn’t release any further data.
Our top focus is fighting against child abuse and ensuring justice for the victims, as stated in the memorandum. Spreading baseless speculations about Epstein doesn’t contribute to either of these goals.
In addition to their findings, the DOJ and FBI pointed out that the documents held “confidential details” about Epstein’s victims, totaling more than 1,000 as stated in the memorandum. This information encompassed aspects such as names, appearances, birthplaces, connections, and work histories of these individuals.
In summary,” the letter continued, “we’ve made every effort to share comprehensive information about Epstein and thoroughly inspect any evidence the government holds. However, based on our assessment by the Department of Justice and the FBI, there’s no need for additional disclosure as it wouldn’t be beneficial or justified.
