Jelly Roll and Son Noah Have Rare Courtside Outing in Nashville

Jelly Roll had a slam dunk evening with his little one.

Rapper Whitsitt Chapel and his son, Noah (age 9), whom he shares with his ex-partner Melissa Ann Cowell, were spotted at a basketball game between the Tennessee Volunteers and Illinois Fighting Illini in Nashville on December 6th. It was a rare public appearance for the pair.

Okay, so I was totally glued to the screen last night! It was amazing seeing Jelly Roll – Jason DeFord, seriously, what a name! – and his son Noah at the Music City Madness tournament, right there courtside! It was freezing, like a proper Nashville winter, so they were both dressed super cozy. Jelly was rocking a full black sweatsuit, and I loved the orange hat with it! And Crocs, of course! Noah looked so cool too, all in dark clothes with bright red Adidas and a beanie. They just looked like the coolest dad-and-son duo ever, honestly!

As a lifestyle expert, I always say it’s about quality over quantity, and that really rings true for Jelly Roll and his son, Noah. He’s very protective of Noah and likes to keep him out of the public eye, which I totally get! But when they do make an appearance together, he makes it a really special, unforgettable experience for his little one. It’s a beautiful thing to see!

The singer of “Amen,” who is also a father to 17-year-old Bailee Ann from a previous relationship, recently surprised his son Noah with a trip to Monster Jam. Noah even got to ride in the famous Grave Digger truck!

He exclaimed on TikTok, January 10th, as Noah climbed into the huge truck, “This is amazing!” He explained he’d never been able to get this close to a Monster Jam truck like Grave Digger before, saying he usually watched from far back in the stands.

Oh my gosh, when it happened, Noah was just… ecstatic! I mean, he was sitting in the truck, and he just kept saying, “It’s awesome!” It was the most perfect reaction ever, seriously! You could just feel his excitement!

Jelly Roll isn’t the only one fulfilling dreams lately. His daughter, Bailee, recently surprised both him and his wife, Bunnie Xo (also known as Alyssa DeFord), with a special prom night.

Bunnie shared a heartfelt lesson she learned about parenting this week. In a recent Instagram video, she explained that her daughter, Bailee, has never enjoyed school dances. However, because Bunnie and her husband, Jelly Roll, didn’t attend their own dances, they encouraged Bailee to go and create the experiences they missed out on.

But instead, the teen decided to gift the couple their own special experience. 

It’s been a really tough year, with everyone feeling overwhelmed and exhausted,” she said. “We’ve all been trying to keep things low-key, and none of us like being caught off guard. So when Bailee said she had a surprise, I immediately started to worry, especially since we’d promised no surprises for J’s birthday. But we went anyway, to support her, even though we were all feeling drained.
