Jelly Roll Jokes He Can Do This After 200-Pound Weight Loss

Jelly Roll is singin’ “amen” to this new accomplishment—and his growing closet.

The rapper from Whitsitt Chapel has been sharing his weight loss progress online since late 2022, and recently announced he’s lost over 200 pounds – a major accomplishment.

Country star Jelly Roll joked on Instagram that he can now afford Louis Vuitton, but his wallet might suffer! He shared a photo of himself wearing a navy coat with an all-black outfit, and gave a shout-out to Pharrell Williams, Louis Vuitton’s menswear designer. Jelly Roll expressed his gratitude to Williams, his team, and everyone involved in a recent event, thanking them profusely.

As a lifestyle expert, I always say your environment should influence your style, and that was definitely the case for Jelly Roll! He really wanted to step up his look for his recent trip to Vatican City, and honestly, he nailed it. The artist – Jason DeFord is his given name – debuted a more polished style while performing at the Grace for the World concert and, even more amazingly, meeting Pope Leo XIV. He was so excited about both experiences, and rightfully so – he shared all about it on Instagram, and it was truly inspiring to see!

The actor from “I Am Not Okay” shared a photo of himself happily shaking hands with the Pope, writing, “From my lowest point to this incredible moment.” He then quoted a Bible verse: “Wherever two or three people come together in my name, I am there with them.”

Country star Jelly Roll can now add designing high fashion to his list of achievements. The singer, who shares two children – 16-year-old Bailee Ann and 8-year-old Noah – with his ex-wife, Melisa Ann Cowell, recently shared that he’s making a list of goals to accomplish as he continues his weight loss journey.

During an appearance on *Jimmy Kimmel Live!* in April, the comedian explained that there are weight limits for enjoying certain activities. He said, ‘If you want to do all the fun stuff in life, you need to weigh under 250 pounds.’ He then shared a list of things he’s hoping to experience, including skydiving, riding roller coasters and bulls, and even wrestling an alligator.

Even though Jelly Roll is still pursuing his aims, he’s already achieved something significant he set out to do.

He recently hiked Camelback Mountain in Arizona, telling TopMob News in February that he wouldn’t have been able to do it before his recent health improvements. He’s pleased with his progress and continues to improve.

The Fresh Off the Boat alum used to weigh 300 pounds and lost 130, showcasing his journey on TikTok.

Tammy Slaton is known for her role on the TLC show *1,000-Lb. Sisters*, but she didn’t want to be defined by it forever.

In an April 2025 episode of her show, the 38-year-old shared that she’s lost 500 pounds, bringing her current weight down to 238 pounds. She explained that she once weighed over 700 pounds.

She had weight-loss surgery in 2022, and her doctor believes it was the best decision for her health.

In October 2024, Dr. Eric Smith told People magazine that Tammy has consistently shown a strong commitment to adopting a healthier lifestyle to get the most out of her surgery. He explained that he’s stressed the value of making small changes each day, both for her ongoing recovery and for her future well-being, and that she’s fully dedicated to improving her health.

It seems as if every time Jelly Roll hits a red carpet, he’s down a sizable slice of weight.

Singer Jason DeFord, who weighed 540 pounds at the start of his journey, shared with Pat McAfee in April 2025 on McAfee’s live show, *Big Night Aht*, that he currently weighs 357 pounds. He plans to lose another 100 pounds and celebrate by skydiving with his wife in Sweden.

The artist, who is 6’1″, realized he needed to change his eating habits to achieve his goals. He shared on the October 2024 podcast On Purpose With Jay Shetty that he believes there’s a strong link between obesity and mental wellbeing. He understands it’s easy for people to say ‘just eat less and exercise,’ but he wishes he’d been able to see food in that simple way himself.

Jelly Roll acknowledged that losing weight was still a major challenge, but he was happy to see that his new, healthier habits were starting to make a difference.

He explained that he’s fully committed to improving himself, focusing on healthy habits like staying hydrated, cold water immersion, and eating a nutritious diet. He feels he’s making good progress.

Al Roker wasn’t kidding around with the title of his cookbook Recipes to Live By.

After losing 100 pounds through dedication and effort, the longtime weather reporter for TODAY consistently practices what he preaches – he aims for at least 10,000 steps daily, eats a healthy diet, and makes time for exercise every day.

“I always say that doing something is better than doing nothing at all,” he shared with People magazine in June 2025. “While some people aim for intense fitness like marathon running or weightlifting, most just want to be healthy enough to enjoy life.”

I’ve been following Al Roker for years, and I remember when he had gastric bypass surgery back in 2002. It was the start of a really inspiring health journey for him, but he’s always been honest about the fact that there’s no easy fix – no single thing that just makes everything better. It takes real work!

Surgery is “not the end,” he advised. “You’re still going to have to put in the work.”

Former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, previously famous for his role in the “tush push” play, has recently been gaining attention for his impressive physique.

The former NFL player was always in good shape during his 13 years in the league, but he’s currently about 25 pounds lighter than his playing weight. He recently shared at a golf tournament in Philadelphia that he now weighs around 270 pounds, down from his 295-pound playing weight.

Kelce explained that his goal weight of 250 to 260 pounds is part of his plan for life after football. He told GQ in June 2024 that he wants to stay in good shape and maintain his size without needing to have overly defined abs. He wants to remain physically imposing even after retirement.

For the dad of four daughters, whose wife is Kylie Kelce, being able to keep up with his children was his biggest priority.

At 277 pounds, he said he’s already feeling relief in his back and knees, and hopes losing another 20 pounds will make it even easier to play with his kids.

Moving her family from the U.S. to Ireland wasn’t just about a change of location for Rosie O’Donnell; it actually made a difference in her life.

In a TikTok video from March 2025, she revealed she’d lost weight, explaining it was a side effect of taking Mounjaro for her diabetes.

The former cohost of *View* recently went shopping in Dublin for clothes that fit better. She explained, “I’ve always struggled with my weight, and now that I’ve gone down to a large size from an XL or 2XL, it feels really surprising.”

In 2022, Jazz Jennings began focusing on her health with a diet and exercise plan. Two years later, she shared on Instagram that she was prioritizing self-care after a long period of neglecting her well-being. She admitted she hadn’t been mindful of her eating habits but was now very proud of her weight loss and the boost it gave her confidence.

In August 2024, Jazz Jennings, star of *I Am Jazz*, revealed she had lost nearly 100 pounds and expressed how proud she was of her achievement.

It turns out Christopher Schwarzenegger is a chip off the ol’ muscly block.

The youngest child of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver quietly lost 30 pounds, but is now returning to a more active life.

He explained at the first Beacher Vitality Happy & Healthy Summit in May 2025 that achieving his results wasn’t quick, and involved a lot of experimentation. He said simply cutting out bread helped significantly, but even now, when he compares old and new photos, he doesn’t feel like he’s reached his goal.

Meanwhile, Christopher did not let a certain seven-time Mr. Olympia in on his plan.

Dad Arnold explained to *The Times* in June 2025 that he would never directly tell his son he was overweight. Instead, they consistently offered him healthy food options and encouraged gym visits. Eventually, his son independently decided he wanted to get in shape, and he succeeded. Arnold was thrilled with his son’s self-discipline and motivation, believing the change had to come from within-and it did.

Chrissy Metz jokingly says she only runs when she’s being chased, but she loves strength training. Working out, especially strength training, has been a key part of her 100-pound weight loss journey.

In an April 2025 interview with DailyMail.com, the former *This Is Us* star explained that her main goal is to age well and stay strong, and that drives all of her choices.

To Metz, aging gracefully means “staying strong and flexible,” so she tries to be active every day.

John Goodman was known for his large build when he played Dan Conner on the show *Roseanne* in the 1990s, once reportedly weighing close to 400 pounds, as he shared with David Letterman in 2010. However, by the time *The Conners* began in 2018, the character-and Goodman himself-had adopted a healthier lifestyle.

In 2007, Goodman stopped drinking, which was the beginning of his journey to a healthier lifestyle. He enjoyed staying active through boxing and taking his dogs for walks.

In 2010, he told *People* magazine that he was working hard to get in shape, exercising six days a week and eliminating sugar from his diet, which had helped him lose around 100 pounds, but he was staying calm and collected about it.

Overall, the 6-foot-2 actor has lost about 200 pounds since he was at his peak weight.

In a 2016 interview with ABC News, Goodman explained he reached a point where he was simply exhausted with his own image. He described feeling a strong aversion to even looking at himself – ‘You’re shaving and you don’t want to look at yourself,’ he said – and considered that a warning sign.

Oprah Winfrey has been sharing the highs and lows of her weight loss journey for decades.

I’ve been following Oprah for years, and I remember being absolutely stunned when she dramatically rolled onto the stage in 1988 – skinny jeans and all – with that wagon full of fat! It was such a powerful moment. But it wasn’t just a one-time thing. She’s consistently used her incredible platform to keep talking about weight and wellness, and I was so impressed when she invested in WeightWatchers back in 2015. She really puts her money where her mouth is, and I admire her dedication to helping others.

Addressing the current popular topic, Oprah Winfrey shared in a March 2024 special that she’s been using medication, alongside eating smaller meals and exercising, to help manage her weight.

“It’s not just one thing,” she said of her secret to staying fit, “it’s multiple things.”

Winfrey said the purpose of the special was to begin breaking down the negative feelings and criticism surrounding weight-to stop judging others, and ourselves, for being overweight or for the choices we make about weight loss. She wanted to create a more accepting environment.

Lizzo simply wanted to feel better from head to toe.

In a May 2023 TikTok video, the singer explained that working out isn’t about changing her body, but about improving her mental health. She said exercise helps her feel better about herself and overcome feelings of shame and self-disgust.

In a TikTok video from January 2025, she shared that she was deliberately trying to lose weight, explaining that her aim was just to improve her overall health and well-being.

Lizzo explained that even after losing weight, she won’t be considered traditionally ‘thin,’ and will likely still be classified as morbidly obese according to BMI. She anticipates some people online will still comment on her body, but ultimately, her happiness is what matters most.

Just a moment later, the video cut to Lizzo happily announcing that her body fat percentage had decreased by 16%, and her BMI had gone down by 10.5 points.

She finished with a hopeful message: you’re capable of achieving anything you truly want. “And now,” she said, “it’s time to start thinking about what’s next.”
