Bunnie Xo knows Jelly Roll has been waiting for this moment all his life.
The host of the Dumb Blonde podcast attended the 2026 Grammys in Los Angeles with her husband on February 1st. While on the red carpet, she shared the touching first thing she ever said to the country singer.
Bunnie predicted that Jelly Roll would win a Grammy, and she was right! He won awards for Best Country Duo/Group Performance and Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song at the show, which was hosted by Trevor Noah.
As we were driving here, we were discussing how unbelievable the whole situation is – like a strange fairytale,” the 46-year-old shared with Zuri Hall on Live From TopMob: Grammys. “He said he didn’t expect things to turn out this way, but I knew from the very beginning. The first time I met him, I immediately told him he was special, and I truly meant it.
Bunnie noticed Jelly Roll’s potential from the start, but also acknowledged that others played a role in his success. (You can see photos of all the stars at the Crypto.com Arena event here.)
As she quipped, “I think behind every man is a woman that’s pushing him.”
Jelly Roll has also made remarkable progress in his personal life, openly sharing his story of losing 200 pounds.
Jelly Roll decided to completely change his eating habits after a frightening health scare that made him feel like he was close to dying.
I made a big change with my diet,” he shared with TopMob News in January. “I’m not lecturing anyone, but I feel strongly about how flawed our food system is. As someone who struggled with addiction, it was difficult to change my eating habits, so I really focused on working through that with my food choices.
But that’s not the only way he put in the work.
He explained that running has truly helped him heal. He makes sure to run every single day – even on his days off. It might just be a short, easy run – a mile at a very slow pace, taking around fifteen minutes – but he never misses a day.

When he’s lacking motivation, he finds inspiration in his family – his partner Bunnie and their children, Bailee Ann, 17, and Noah, 9 – who have been a significant source of support.
He emphasized that his wife, Bunnie, was instrumental in his journey. He explained that all his efforts to improve himself were motivated by his desire to be a better husband and father. Losing weight was just one step in that process, and he knew he needed to continue growing and evolving to fulfill those roles every day.
