Jenelle Evans Shares Update on Co-Parenting With Ex David Eason

Jenelle Evans is sharing good news about her family dynamic.

Former Teen Mom star Jenelle Evans has shared that she and her ex-husband, David Eason, are getting along well recently. This comes after a difficult time following their divorce; they share a 9-year-old daughter named Ensley.

According to an interview with Us Weekly published on March 8th, David recently visited Ensley in Las Vegas but has since returned to North Carolina. She shared that she and her children are doing well and that she’s happy to model a positive co-parenting relationship for them.

Jenelle, who shares 16-year-old Jace with Andrew Lewis and 11-year-old Kaiser with Nathan Griffith, explained that she always tries to maintain positive relationships with her exes because it benefits her children.

The 34-year-old recently shared a new account of her relationship with her ex, David, 37, which contradicts what she said just a few months ago. Back in October, she firmly denied any contact with him, responding to a question on Instagram with a strong “No way!”

And at the time, she didn’t appear to be optimistic about David trying to reach out.

“Idk and Idc,” she wrote. “He’s obviously the same person I left.”

After Jenelle and David separated in 2024, North Carolina law required them to wait a year before Jenelle could officially file for divorce. By the time the waiting period was over, she was ready to move forward with her life.

She told TopMob News in June that she’s starting a fresh, new phase of her life. She wants to leave negativity behind, rediscover who she is, and enjoy quality time with her children while learning to be comfortable on her own.

With Jenelle and David appearing to be getting along, here are some other celebrities who have managed to stay friendly after their breakups.

They are definitely not getting back together. However, with all the recent interactions – birthday celebrations, affectionate hugs, and even playfully acting out a romantic scene during the virtual reading of Fast Times at Ridgemont High – it feels like they’re just teasing everyone who still hopes for a reconciliation.

It takes a certain level of confidence to playfully tease your ex on his own show. That’s exactly what Sarah did when she appeared on Jimmy Kimmel’s talk show to promote her series, I Love You, America, and jokingly commented on his wife, Molly Kimmel. She quipped, “It’s not fair! She got the updated, more aware Jimmy. I only got the Jimmy from The Man Show.”

Honestly, some observers seemed more affected by this relationship ending than the people involved. When Anna—who is now married to Michael Barrett—learned that Pratt was getting married to Katherine Schwarzenegger in 2019, she volunteered to perform the ceremony. She even sent a gift when their daughter, Lyla, was born in August 2020. A source told TopMob News that Anna was “very supportive” and excited for her son, Jack, to have a little sister.

Their breakup could have easily led to disaster, but four years later, these HGTV stars are thriving. They’re successfully co-parenting their children, Taylor and Brayden, and continuing to renovate and revitalize homes for others.

Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet, who have a daughter, actress Zoe Kravitz, describe their relationship as a close, familial bond – they’ve often referred to each other as ‘best friends.’ Even after their divorce, and Bonet’s subsequent marriage to and split from Jason Momoa in 2020, they maintain a happy and supportive connection. As Lenny Kravitz put it in a 2013 interview with Oprah Winfrey, they function as ‘one big happy family,’ demonstrating a positive co-parenting dynamic.

Since the Dancing With the Stars co-host and retired hockey player separated in 2020, they’ve consistently shown everyone they remain friendly.

When Brooks announced he was getting married to Katrín Tanja Davíðsdóttir in December 2024, Julianne publicly shared her excitement. She posted on Instagram, wishing them a lifetime filled with love, laughter, and fun adventures as they begin this new chapter together.

The dancer, her ex-husband, and his pregnant fiancée spent a day together at the lake. She shared a photo of the four of them, calling them ‘three cuties’ and describing it as a special day.

Since splitting up in 2015, the parents of Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel have managed a remarkably friendly co-parenting relationship. They continue to vacation and celebrate holidays together, and Ben has publicly praised his ex-partner, calling her “an amazing mother” in a 2016 interview with TopMob News.

Nina and Ian dated for three years before splitting up in 2013, but they stayed friends. The following year, Nina began dating Nikki Reed and quickly became close with her, as Nikki had recently married Ian.

The couple broke up in July 2016 after being together for five years. The singer later shared on Howard Stern’s radio show in October that she remained very close to her ex, describing him as both a former lover and a longtime friend.

“We love each other,” she said. “That’s it.”

Even years after The Office ended in 2013, the chemistry between its stars continues to fuel speculation about a possible romance, and Mindy Kaling understands why fans still root for them. In a 2019 interview with Good Housekeeping, she admitted that if she were a viewer, she’d feel the same way, especially considering she chose B.J. Novak to be a godfather to her children. However, she clarified that their relationship has evolved into something even deeper than just friendship – they’re like family now.

After their divorce was finalized in 2011, the former couple easily continued to raise their son, Bronx. The Fall Out Boy singer has publicly praised his ex-wife, calling her a fantastic mother.

Looks like she’s moved on from that past relationship! The singer has mentioned he and his former partner are still on good terms, describing their connection as friendly and positive.

Jennifer and her Dexter co-star first connected on the set of the show in 2006, and their relationship became romantic two years later. Even after their divorce in 2011, Jennifer has said they remained friendly and respectful towards each other.

Bruce Willis and Demi Moore are famously friendly exes, and their daughters – Rumer, Tallulah, and Scout – have helped them maintain that bond. It was natural for them to decide to quarantine together in Idaho during the pandemic. Maybe they even had a few dance parties!

Even four years after their 2014 divorce, Jennifer Lopez continued to praise her ex-husband, Marc Anthony, the father of her twins, Max and Emme. In a 2018 interview on Sunday Today, she shared how he boosted her confidence during their marriage. He consistently told her she was a talented singer and encouraged her not to let anyone diminish that, something she greatly respected, considering him one of the greatest singers ever.

Despite facing personal challenges, the actress remains supportive of her ex-husband and former Scream co-star. Eight years after their 2010 divorce, she described it as a relatively amicable split while appearing on Running Wild With Bear Grylls. She added that they successfully co-parent their daughter, Coco.

Although their relationship ended in 2007, they still had great chemistry on screen when they starred together in the 2011 film Bad Teacher.

Although their 2013 breakup was difficult at first, the actors have reached a point where they can vacation together as a group. The Twilight star shared with LaPalme Magazine that a 2017 trip to Cancun included his ex-wife’s husband, Garth, as well as Dave Abrams, Peter’s fiancée Lily Anne Harrison, and their three daughters, Luca, Lola, and Fiona. He explained to the magazine that relationships evolve, saying, “People come into your life for a reason, and just because you’re not together doesn’t mean you can’t still care for each other.”

Let me tell you, navigating relationships, even after a split, is something I’ve seen a lot of. Will and I actually separated back in September 2012, but we quickly realized how important it was to present a united front for our kids. I shared with Howard Stern in 2014 that we were really committed to co-parenting well. Honestly, I don’t view our marriage ending as a failure. Ten years together is significant, and relationships are just… hard work! I truly believe that.

The Grammy-winning artist and her ex-husband, who officially divorced in January 2024, have stayed friendly and are successfully co-parenting their son, Hayes. They even live just five minutes away from each other, making it much easier to share parenting responsibilities.

“Our stops are really easy,” Maren told The Zoe Report in May 2025, “and we’ll have family dinners.”
