Jenna Bush Hager Teases “Different Life” After Today

Jenna Bush Hager is thinking two steps ahead.

Already contemplating her future plans, the co-host of “Today with Jenna & Friends” on NBC is mulling over what she might pursue once she eventually steps down from the morning show.

Jenna expressed during the August 6 episode of Today, “I’ve been having this idea… I believe life should be divided into different stages, like chapters in a book. I have an aspiration… It might not be practical, but when the ‘Jenna & Friends’ chapter ends…

However, prior to her revealing her grand ambitions, the guest co-host Matt Rogers interjected with a question, “By any chance, what makes you think such an event could occur?

As a dedicated parent, I find myself acknowledging that the demanding nature of my profession might be at play here. I share children Mila (12), Poppy, and Hal (6) with my husband Henry Hager.

She chuckled and remarked, ‘Perhaps the world of linear TV!’ When the time comes for me to embark on a new journey, I imagine returning to Texas would be delightful. That way, my children, who attended a large public high school like I did, can experience a different lifestyle.

As a devoted follower, I’m excited to share that Jenna’s children have recently experienced a bit of the limelight. Though no family members have graced our screens on the show since Hoda Kotb’s departure in January, Jenna playfully hinted that one of her daughters is eager to step into the spotlight for a cameo appearance.

According to Jenna, her children haven’t been leaping, but she might nudge them as she has done for years. She also mentioned that Mila Hager is particularly eager to join in on the activity.

Jenna shared with TopMob News that her kids aren’t currently jumping, but she often encourages them just like she always has. She also expressed that Mila Hager seems very keen to participate.

It appears that her 12-year-old had received a permanent ban from Studio 1A instead.

In simpler terms, she had said something highly debatable, and as a result, her husband imposed a permanent ban on her. However, there might be a chance it gets lifted for ‘Bring Your Kids to Work Day’. To put it mildly, she hasn’t been the most encouraging figure, that much is clear.

What exactly did Mila reveal that was so damaging in December 2022? She disclosed some private details about her mother’s personal affairs.

The young girl, who was nine years old at the time, declared on ‘Today’ that she doesn’t wear underwear. She also mentioned that she is currently not wearing any, as she had witnessed her changing clothes.

On one occasion, she was giggling so much in the living room that she accidentally wet her pants. Later, she jokingly informed her mother, ‘It seems I need to change my pajamas!’

The popular television talk show hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, known as “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” concluded in 2022 after a long run of 19 seasons due to accusations of a harmful work environment. This led to an internal investigation, dismissals of several executives, and widespread criticism.

Later, in September 2024, Ellen made her comeback with her standup special titled “For Your Approval” on Netflix. Prior to the release of this special, she announced that she would be departing from Hollywood entirely.

In her Ellen’s Last Stand…Up tour, she informed a gathering that this would be our final encounter with her, as she stated, “After my Netflix special, I’m done.” Later confirmed by Ellen herself, she and her wife Portia de Rossi moved to England in November 2024 following Donald Trump’s reelection. This information was shared with broadcaster Richard Bacon in July 2025.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but share the exciting news! You know Tyra from ‘America’s Next Top Model’, right? Well, she’s not just a supermodel or a TV host anymore – she’s also the brains behind SMiZE and Dream, her very own ice cream brand. And guess where she moved to recently? That’s right, Australia!

Tyra spilled the beans on ‘Today with Jenna & Friends’ back in April 2025. She said that although her ice cream company had primarily been business-to-business (B2B), supplying ice cream for airplanes and cruises, she’d been visiting Australia frequently because they were producing a significant amount of her ice cream in a large facility there. Each visit left her smitten, and she just couldn’t resist the allure of this vibrant land.

But it wasn’t just love at first sight; Tyra also recognized that Australia was a goldmine for her business. She revealed that America, New Zealand, and Australia are the top three countries that consume the most ice cream!

With her son York (Erik Asla’s boy) and boyfriend Louis Bélanger-Martin by her side, Tyra decided to make the move Down Under. In her own words, ‘Australia has been a dream come true for me and my family.’

Although it’s been some time since Eva Longoria’s character resided on Wisteria Lane, she has since found a new home in reality. In an interview with Marie Claire in November 2024, Eva expressed her feelings about leaving Los Angeles, stating that even before the pandemic, the city was undergoing changes and the atmosphere felt different. The arrival of Covid-19 pushed these changes to a breaking point, whether it’s due to homelessness or high taxes. Eva acknowledged her privilege in being able to leave California, but expressed concern for those who are stuck there.

Eva clarified that her move was not motivated by President Trump’s re-election. Instead, she left due to work commitments, such as shooting for “Land of Women” and “Searching for Mexico,” which took her to Catalonia and Mexico respectively. She has since been residing in Spain for several years. Eva also mentioned that she dislikes the politicization surrounding her decision to move.

Since relocating, Eva has remained active with roles in shows like “Only Murders in the Building” and “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Road Trip.

As a devoted fan, I’m excited to share that I, the actor, have made a significant change in my life. After wrapping up my work in Chicago, I’ve moved to Spain, following the heart of my Spanish wife, Alejandra Silva, whom I met around seven years ago. We’re now looking forward to spending some time in Madrid.

This move is not just exciting for me, but also for our sons Alexander and James. Being bilingual already, they are expected to thrive even more in this new environment. My older son, Homer, from my previous relationship with Carey Lowell, has also been part of this transition.

Our family seems to be flourishing in this new phase of our lives. In an interview with Elle España in January 2025, I shared that we are happier than ever, and this happiness is evident as we continue to move forward together.

From morning till night, the singer (Christina Aguilera) and her family reside in Paris. For several years, she was frequently traveling between France and the U.S., but due to her children’s education, they made a permanent move to France. Her kids – including daughter Violet from her previous marriage with The-Dream, and sons Isaiah and Kenna from her union with Matt Pokora – attend school in Paris. This change has provided an opportunity for them to immerse themselves in the French language and culture. Life in Paris seems to be wonderful for the family, as Christina enjoys a balanced lifestyle, spending her days engaged in activities while working at night since she operates on a different time zone.

Lindsay has grown weary of speculation regarding her departure from Los Angeles. To clarify matters, she explained her situation, reflecting on her demanding career and social life during the 2000s.

“I felt that some of my work was overshadowed by paparazzi and similar distractions when I was younger, which can be quite annoying,” said Lindsay in an interview with Bustle in March 2024. “I regret that part of my past. It seemed to develop a life of its own. That’s why I decided to step away. I thought, ‘Unless there’s no story here, they won’t focus on just my work.'”

Lindsay relocated first to London and then to Dubai, but there was another motivation for her escape from the public eye.

In a similar vein, she expressed, “I found myself wondering, ‘Will I never experience love? Is this something that will never occur?'” The actress continued. “However, it was only when I took the time to focus on me that opportunities began to present themselves and affirmative responses started flowing-things I longed to say ‘yes’ to.”

Notably, Lindsay eventually found love with Bader Shammas, their wedding taking place in 2022, followed by the birth of their son, Luai, in the year after. The couple resides in Dubai, but Lindsay has not entirely severed ties with Hollywood, gracing the screens in films such as “Our Little Secret,” “Irish Wish,” and “Freakier Friday.

Josh, who starred in Black Mirror, decided to leave the bustling world of Hollywood after giving it some serious thought. He told People magazine that Hollywood is more than just a location; it’s a way of life, and he found himself surrounded by people constantly discussing the film industry. This left him feeling one-dimensional, which was not something he ever wanted.

Instead, Josh craved diversity and wanted to be around people engaged in various activities that would help him grow in different directions. He saw this as the essence of life. So, along with his wife Tamsin Egerton and their four children, Josh moved to England’s Hampshire countryside.

Speaking to The Guardian, he said that time flies when you have a family, especially with four kids. Although there might be less happening on the surface, more of the important moments are taking place. Despite this move, Josh has remained busy and taken roles in Verity, Fight or Flight, and Trap.

As someone who recently shared with CBS News Sunday Morning in February 2025, I’ve spent the last decade spending time in Indiana and find it the most comfortable place for me. The Hollywood scene feels too unstable for my taste. Despite being an Oscar nominee, my life is quite ordinary, shared with my wife Anna Strout and son Banner. Unlike many industry folks, I don’t use social media or spend a lot of time chatting on the phone about work matters. My wife is a teacher, and our son isn’t much into movies, so I’m not constantly evaluating my standing in the industry.

Following her roles in shows like “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and the 2000 film “Bring It On”, Eliza announced in September 2024 that she had earned certification in psychedelic-assisted therapy and is now pursuing additional education to become a mental health professional.

In simpler terms, she shared with Boston Magazine that she discovered a new path in life which centered around healing herself first, so she could effectively help others heal. She felt it was important to express her personal transformation, peace, and passion now, as this new journey feels like her true vocation or calling.

The actress who plays a role in the Flintstones series disclosed that she relocated to Ireland with her youngest child named Clay in January 2025. She is currently pursuing Irish citizenship since her grandparents are originally from there. However, Rosie attributed recent political changes as the reason for her departure but did not entirely rule out a potential future return home.

In the TikTok video, she expressed her longing, saying, “I pine for my other children, my friends, and many aspects of life I left behind at home. I am striving to find a new home here in this lovely country. Once equality is assured for all citizens in America, we will think about returning.

The actress who plays the lead role in “Ant-Man and the Wasp” has decided to temporarily step away from acting following two decades in the entertainment field.

In June 2024, Evangeline shared on Instagram: “Today I’m overflowing with happiness and satisfaction as I pursue my dream. I’m incredibly thankful for all my blessings. Sometimes, it can be frightening to step away from the usual path (wealth and fame), but embracing your life’s purpose fills you with contentment instead.

However, she doesn’t definitely close the door on a possible return to Hollywood. She notes, “It’s possible I may return to Hollywood someday, but for now, this is where I feel at home.

The actor from “The Vampire Diaries” hasn’t taken on a new character since the 2019 Netflix series “V-Wars”. Instead, he’s immersed himself in a personal endeavor – a crusade aimed at addressing climate change by enhancing global soil health.

In an interview with TopMob News in November 2023, Ian, father of two with Nikki Reed, explained that he took a break from acting approximately four years prior to focus on raising his kids, establishing businesses, and releasing the documentaries, specifically “Kiss the Ground” (2020) and its sequel “Common Ground”. These films emphasize the importance of regenerative farming.

In the future, the actor envisions himself as a rancher and focusing on establishing renowned brands, be it for his bourbon or health and wellness company. He is passionate about sustainable agriculture and soil management, practices he and his family follow closely. This path is the one he sees for himself, which explains why he takes an interest in various matters. Essentially, this is what defines him and where his future lies.

In the February 2021 episode of her “Empty Inside” podcast, the former iCarly star revealed to guest Anna Faris that she had chosen to step away from acting several years ago and was now pursuing ventures in writing, directing, as well as hosting the show.

In her memoir “I’m Glad My Mom Died,” published in 2022, Jennette openly shared her feelings about her acting career. She confessed that she has a deep sense of shame regarding the roles she took earlier in her career, and she feels resentment towards it. Jennette expressed feeling unfulfilled by the characters she portrayed, finding them cheesy and embarrassing. From the age of 13 to 21, she was involved in various shows, but as early as 15, she already felt embarrassed about being on them. Even her friends at that age didn’t share the excitement about her being on a Nickelodeon show; instead, it was something she found embarrassing.

Although she hasn’t completely ruled out a return to acting, her recent statements suggest that writing a book has given her new perspective on potentially venturing into acting again without the heavy baggage she carried for years. She expressed this thought during an interview with TopMob News in October 2022, hinting that writing something specifically for herself might be the key to revisiting acting once more.

This seemed almost inevitable. If given the opportunity to marry Prince Harry, devote our life to charitable work that we care deeply about, and have access to the Queen’s magnificent collection of tiaras, saying goodbye to Hollywood might seem a worthwhile compromise.

Moving along a similar trajectory as Grace Kelly transitioned from Hollywood to the Principality of Monaco, Meghan Markle gave up her residence in Toronto, along with her prominent role on Suits, for life within The Firm. However, since stepping down from their senior royal positions and settling in Montecito, California, she has been gradually re-entering the entertainment industry through strategic ventures such as a multi-year production deal with Netflix.

The Duchess of Sussex has also introduced her 2022 documentary series Harry & Meghan, her 2025 lifestyle show With Love, Meghan, and podcasts on the streaming platform, in addition to establishing her brand As Ever.

Since her first role in “The Mask” back in 1994, the actress had appeared in more than 40 films. By the time filming ended for “Annie” in 2014, it was well past due that she took a much-needed break from acting.

She shared with her friend Gwyneth Paltrow that she had recently made a change in her life’s goals. After years of pushing herself so hard, working and producing films, she felt exhausted. Making a movie can be demanding, she explained, as it often requires long hours on set for months at a time, leaving little room for personal pursuits. Essentially, she was owned by the production, with no time for anything else.

Apart from delving deeper into wellness pursuits (having published her second best-seller, The Longevity Book in 2016 following The Body Book in 2013), and embarking on family life with husband Benji Madden, there’s still a lot more she’d like to explore. However, as she shared with InStyle in 2019, “I don’t miss performing,” she might consider an exception for one comeback performance.

In an interview with TopMob News, Jamie Foxx expressed his enthusiasm about getting Cameron Diaz to join the 2025 Netflix movie “Back in Action”. He said, “We humbly asked and expressed our fondness for her, almost like begging, ‘Please give us another one,'” adding that they have long admired her and are excited that this collaboration will be extraordinary.

After completing his five-year tenure on Empire, the actor firmly declared that there would be no further performances or repetitions. When asked by Extra about his future during the musical drama series’ sixth and final season in 2019, Terrence made it clear he had no intention of continuing with acting, stating “I’ve had enough of pretending.

Despite returning for a few projects after that, the Oscar nominee declared his intention to retire from acting once more during promotions for his Peacock series “The Best Man: The Final Chapters” in 2022. He explained to ET that he felt he had already given his best as an actor and was now content to observe the rise of fresh talent, expressing a desire not to mimic his own performances anymore.

Regardless of earlier criticisms, it’s worth noting that Howard has made additional appearances in various shows and films. For instance, he can be seen in the TV series Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist and the Netflix movie Shirley. Moreover, there are several projects scheduled for him in the time to come.

After King Joffrey met an abrupt, purple-faced demise in 2014 at the age of 21, he expressed to Entertainment Weekly that he was stepping away from acting. Reflecting on his career, the star of Game of Thrones shared, “I’ve been acting since I was 8 years old. Lately, I haven’t been enjoying it as much as I once did.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I found myself no longer basking in the glow of child stardom. The enchantment had faded, replaced by the reality that this could be my career rather than a pastime with friends or a seasonal diversion. It was still pleasurable, but when it becomes your livelihood, the dynamic shifts. It’s not that I despise it; it’s simply not the path I choose to tread.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase it like this: After taking a six-year hiatus, I found myself eager to make my comeback. In 2020, I was thrilled to join the talented cast of BBC’s series “Out of Her Mind.” Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of working on various projects, such as movies like “Rebecca’s Boyfriend” and “In the Land of Saints and Sinners,” as well as TV shows including “Safe Harbor” and “The Famous Five.” It’s been an exciting journey so far!

In September 2020, when Jennifer Aniston played her role in a virtual reading of “Fast Times at Ridgemont High,” she married actor Kevin Kline in 1989. They decided to take turns working so they would never be busy at the same time, allowing them to care for their children, son Owen and daughter Greta (now known as Frankie Cosmos in her music career).

When Phoebe has been scheduled to work, she often decides to spend time with the children instead. Despite making a brief appearance in Jennifer Jason Leigh’s 2001 independent film “The Anniversary Party,” Cates primarily focuses on managing her New York City boutique named Blue Tree.

In the peak of his popularity with “Ghostbusters” and “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids,” the ’80s actor took a break from filmmaking shortly following his wife’s death from breast cancer in 1991, devoting his time instead to nurturing his children Rachel and Mitchell.

As a die-hard fan, it’s been agonizing to see Rick absent from the big screen since 1997. Even turning down a cameo in Paul Feig’s 2016 Ghostbusters remake left me yearning for more. Yet, his status as an enduring cultural legend was made clear by the uproar over rumors of his assault in New York City back in 2020.

But here’s some fantastic news for us fans: Rick is set to make a glorious comeback, joining forces with Josh Gad in Disney’s upcoming reboot, Shrunk!

As a lifestyle expert, I might rephrase that as follows: After tying the knot with renowned fashion designer Adam Kimmel in 2010, the captivating star from “Never Been Kissed” seemed to hint at a potential shift away from acting. In an interview with Vogue, she expressed her reservations about the frequent explicit scenes required in many roles, stating, “I find that approximately 90% of acting roles involve intimate situations with others, which I prefer to avoid. It’s like playing with a strange and intense flame, and while our relationship is robust enough to withstand it, I believe there must be an extraordinary reward at the end of such a journey for me to consider walking through that fire.

After her son Martin joined her older daughter Louisanna in 2014, she became fully committed to her decision. In a 2016 event, she told Us Weekly, “I don’t engage in movie matters anymore; I am essentially an outsider! I am just a mother and an outsider.” She explained that she assists Kimmel with his business endeavors and enjoys painting as a hobby. “I am solely focused on my children,” she added, implying that this was the main reason for her stepping away from the spotlight.

She had watched Ally McBeal, Nip/Tuck, Arrested Development, and Scandal. It dawned on her then that perhaps she was prepared for a change.

In her appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in 2018, she expressed that as she was nearing 45, she started pondering if there was something fresh and demanding that she could undertake which was unlike anything she had done before. She had a sense of what her acting career might look like for the next decade or two, so she chose to leave that behind and start a new venture instead.

Her consumer-oriented art company, known as General Public, was still a work in development, with only one final piece left to complete.

I reached out to Mitch Hurwitz, the genius mind behind “Arrested Development”, and shared with him that if there’s another season, I wouldn’t be able to participate due to my decision to stop acting. He appeared very empathetic, fully grasping the situation. Our chat was delightful, and afterwards, he even wrote me into five episodes for the show.

After winning three Academy Awards, one might wonder what more there is to achieve. Shortly after being nominated for his sixth Oscar for his last movie, “Phantom Thread” in 2017, the actor announced through his representative that he would no longer pursue acting roles. He expressed deep gratitude towards all his collaborators and audiences over the years. This decision was a personal one and neither he nor his representatives will provide further comments on this matter.

However, when Daniel believed he had moved on, his son, Ronan Day-Lewis, drew him back into the fold. In October 2024, Focus Features declared that the Oscar winner would appear in the movie Anemone, a project he co-wrote with his son Ronan Day-Lewis, who will also take up the director’s role.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I find myself reflecting on the journey of Brittany Robertson, an alumna from the beloved show “Good Luck Charlie.” In 2018, she made a conscious decision to step away from the limelight, instead choosing to immerse herself in academic pursuits. This path led her to earn a Master’s degree and eventually a PhD from none other than MIT – quite an impressive feat!

However, her thirst for knowledge didn’t stop there. Brittany then enrolled at Harvard Law School, further expanding her horizons and demonstrating her commitment to lifelong learning. It’s inspiring to see such a talented actress using her time off-screen to grow intellectually and professionally.

Furthermore, not only did Bridgit establish her company Northwood Space last year, but it’s focused on constructing earth-based satellite stations for transmitting and receiving space data. She assumed the role of CEO for the brand in February 2023.
