Actress from ‘Black Adam’ is set to join James Gunn‘s DC Universe revamp in the upcoming ‘Superman’. With James Gunn gearing up for his DCU overhaul, most storylines and cast members from the previous DCEU were discarded. The only elements left intact were those conceived by Gunn himself from ‘The Suicide Squad’ and ‘Peacemaker’. Prior to the reboot announcement, the last DCEU project to be released was ‘Black Adam’, which introduced five new characters who appeared to serve just a single appearance: Black Adam, Hawkman, Doctor Fate, Atom Smasher, and Cyclone.
In a recent chat with ComicBook, director James Gunn revealed that his wife of three years, actress Jennifer Holland, will make an appearance in the upcoming Superman film. Known for portraying ARGUS agent Emilia Harcourt across various projects such as The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker, Black Adam, and Shazam! Fury of the Gods, she is now stepping into a lesser role in her husband’s reimagining of the DC Universe.
As a die-hard cinema enthusiast, I can share that my wife, although not formally credited, lent her talent for a minor role as one of the Superman Robots hidden within the Fortress of Solitude. In an intriguing twist, I personally captured her voice on my phone to bring life to a robot who seemed uninterested in the dialogue delivered by character #4.
In addition to Guardians of the Galaxy stars Pom Klementieff and Michael Rooker, as well as Rogue One’s Alan Tudyk, it has been confirmed that they will lend their voices to Superman Robots. Notably, Tudyk is set to portray four distinct characters in the new DC Universe.
Jennifer Holland’s Role in James Gunn’s New DCU Explained

Jennifer Holland has been confirmed to voice one of the Superman Robots, thereby adding a new role to her repertoire in James Gunn’s DC Universe. However, this upcoming role won’t prevent her from returning as Emilia Harcourt in “Peacemaker” Season 2, set for August, where she will join a cast of 12 DC characters gracing the screens of HBO Max’s series.
In my perspective, since Gunn didn’t take the time to record Jennifer Holland’s “Superman” cameo in a professional studio but instead opted for his phone, her part in the film might not be extensive. This is especially true when considering that the actress from Peacemaker will go unaccredited and will likely only have a few lines of dialogue.
As the DCEU progressed, Harcourt seemed poised to emerge as a regular undercover agent character, making brief appearances that strengthened connections between stories. Since the DCU has its equivalent of Nick Fury, it’s possible that Harcourt could take on a role similar to Agent Phil Coulson during Phase 1 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
