Jennifer Lawrence Details What Keeps Her Marriage “Alive”

Jennifer Lawrence found a silver lining in the chaos.

After a chaotic upbringing, actress Jennifer Lawrence has talked about adjusting to married life with her husband, Cooke Maroney. They share a 3-year-old son named Cy and are expecting another baby in 2025.

Jennifer revealed on the January 12th episode of SmartLess that her husband is very different from her. She described him as highly organized and a stabilizing force in her life.

“I need to maintain order in my life,” she explained. “I have to keep the closet doors shut, and I really focus on completing my small tasks.”

Jennifer struggled to stick to a strict schedule, but she understood it was necessary after becoming a mom.

“Oh, now I understand,” Jennifer said. “The children have a really tight schedule – things like breakfast are at exactly 7:30.”

She said her husband is good at maintaining their relationship, but they’ve both realized they need a little individual time to make their marriage work – about 15 minutes of flexibility each day.

As Jason Bateman explained, trying to stick to exact schedules can put a strain on a marriage.

Jennifer admitted she struggles with strict schedules, particularly because she has ADD. She mentioned considering occupational therapy to help manage it.

Becoming a mother has changed many things in the Oscar winner’s life, including her daily routine. She’s spoken before about how motherhood has impacted her everyday experiences.

She told WMagazine in November that having her first child created a strong bond, but she quickly noticed that the world wasn’t set up to support that new parent-child connection.

She explained that after having a baby, it’s shocking to think about returning to work. It feels impossible to just leave your baby and go back to your normal life – driving to work or even getting on a plane feels wrong. Everything changes your perspective after that experience.

Luckily, the Die My Love actress was able to find others to help her navigate the journey.

Being a mom, particularly when I was new to it, my support network was incredibly important,” she told TopMob News last November. “It’s so vital to have a community and be able to connect with other moms to ask things like, ‘Is what I’m experiencing normal?'”

“Even just meeting moms from the park,” Jennifer noted, “or mommy-and-me class or eventually meeting other parents in my son’s school.”
